Krafty Chicks Challenge #483 - Monochrome

Hello Thursday!

Happy Thanksgiving U.S.!

Hope all my fellow Americans have a safe and happy holiday today full of great food and good company!

And now it's time for this week's challenge
at
Krafty Chicks!

Tangii is our hostess and she wants to see Monochrome projects.

I chose red for my card, a Santa card of sorts.  The background is from My Favorite Things.  Everything else is Catherine Pooler Designs, including the ink.  Everything is inked in Rouge. The hat and beard are part of The Man With The Bag set.  Both were stamped with Midnight ink.  The hat was colored with Rouge and a blender pen.  The beard and hat rim were both embossed with white glitter.  I adhered them to the Merry die plate and postage stamp die.

So stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the team's projects, including our Guest Designer, Claire.  It's her last week.  And come play along with us and make a monochrome project.

Keeping Christmas - November 2019

Hello!

Today is November 25th.

Do you know what that means????

ONE MONTH UNTIL CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!!

Wow did this year fly by, particularly the last half!  WHEW!

And, since it is November 25th, it means it's time for another

Keeping Christmas Inspirational Blog Hop!

I've been working on lots of cards trying to finish mine up.  I have bits and pieces laying all over my craft room.  Sometimes if my mojo is a no-go, I will pull out already created backgrounds and some background stamps and grab a few already cut dies to pull a card together a little quicker and hopefully jumpstart my creativity as well.  I used a Christmas background on one and a mosaic one on the other.  I stamped them both with Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder (the purple Noel) and Rose Gold on the pink card.

For the purple Noel card, I adhered the background to gold foil cardstock and then adhered both layers to a cardbase inked on top with Sweet Sixteen CP Designs Ink.  I had some snowflakes in my stash so I took one and embossed it in a purple emboss powder(Wink) and then several purple shades of embossing glitter.  Then, I glued it to a couple other snowflakes, one white the other gold.  I dropped shadowed the gold one behind the top layer to help it pop more against the background.  I added a strip of gold cardstock behind the snowflake to help make it stand out more.  Next I cut a small tag die from a CP Designs die set and stamped "Noel" in versamark.  Then, I embossed it in the purple embossing powder and then again in embossing glitter.  I slipped it in under the snowflake.

For the pink card, I embossed the background design in Fool's Gold.  I cut various ornament dies I had out of gold foil and cut one out of a second pink alcohol inked background in my stash.  I die cut the words twice each from white cardstock and layered.  I assembled the ornaments with their strings and tops and tucked the strings between the background layer and a layer of gold foil cardstock and also glued down the ornaments to the front.  Finally, I glued the sentiment words onto the appropriate ornaments.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #482 - Anything BUT a Card

Good Morning, Thursday!

This week is just breezing by along with the blustery weather!  WHEW!

It's time for yet another Krafty Chicks Challenge!

This week, I'm your hostess.  I decided to change it up a bit and request Anything BUT A Card!  Yes, let's see tags, packages, 3D paper projects.  Boost those creative juices some more.

I made gift bags for my project using the gift bag punch by We R Memory Keepers.  I've had this in my cabinet collecting dust for way too long.  So out it came and it is going to get some more use this holiday season.  It's really easy to use and very straightforward.  You can make three width sizes of gift bags with lengths up to 12".  I made a medium/tall bag and a large/less tall bag.  It's a great way to use up some of my old 12x12 patterned paper.

I used some old double-sided patterned paper by Stampin' Up for the bags.  Then, I stamped some hot air balloon stamps to coordinate with the bags for the front of the shorter bag.
I used Catherine Pooler Inks to stamp the balloons and also color one in.  The smaller balloons are from the "Love Is In The Air" set, with coordinating dies, by Catherine Pooler and the larger balloon, clouds and sentiments are from a set by Fiskers.

The bags are great for smaller gifts and I think the fact that it allows you to make custom made bags is an added touch for the recipient.

Now stop by the Hen House and see the Non-card projects the rest of the team and our Guest Designer, Claire have created.  Then, come play along with us.  Christmas is just around the corner, perhaps you need a giftcard holder, or tags for your gifts!  Share them with us.  You have until Wednesday, November 27th to play along.

Good Tidings of Comfort & Joy

Good Evening!

Another post for this fine Hump Day of a Wednesday.

I wanted to FINALLY play along in the Inspired By challenge.  I've been trying to for a long time now and so I'm a tad excited!  😁

I used a border stamp from the set Punctuated Party by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I think they look like colorful bead garlands.  The sentiment and greenery is from the set, Boughs and Berries also from Catherine Pooler Designs.  I inked them all up in Catherine Pooler Inks --- Be Mine, Samba, Green tea, It's A Boy and Fiesta Blue.  The stitched scallop border die is by Pretty Pink Posh.  I am really in love with this card right now!  I love non-traditional colored, fun and whimsy Christmas cards.  I think I can say this card has put me in the holiday spirit finally!  LOL

Comfy Peace

Good Morning!

It's another sunny, crisp Autumn day in Cary, North Carolina.  Hope wherever you are your day is full of sunshine too. I'm sharing a card for the Time Out Challenges.  Getting in just under the wire.  Better late than never I guess.  Yet, I feel like I'm back peddling right now.  I've been dealing with a minor health issue related to my PKD and then a cold on top of it.  And, just in the last couple days have I felt "back to normal".  Hopefully it stays that way. <knocks on wood>

So, here's my card ----

I am playing in the Time Out Challenge, "home sweet home". My angel (Poppy Stamps die) is cut from silver foil cardstock and I love how it looks like metal.  I cut the star die from the plaid cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs) and inlaid it into the embossed background.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, embossed in white on Midnight cardstock by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Cozy Christmas Trees

Hello Sunday!

It's a brisk sunny Fall day here in NC.  Hope you're enjoying a nice Sunday where you are.

Today is the mid-month point for

Trina is our hostess this month
and
the theme is Warm and Cozy.

There's just five weeks until Christmas.  Do you have your Christmas cards ready?

If not, come join us and knock out some CAS Christmas cards.

My card is pretty straight forward.  I wrapped my trees all warm and comfy in scarves.  I used the new ink colors from Catherine Pooler --- Hot Tub for the trees. Sangria, Orange Peel and Pink Champagne for the scarves. The trees are from CP Designs "Christmas Tree Farm" set and the scarves are from the set "Build A Snowman" with coordinating dies. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp, Christmas Sentiments Inside & Out.  The stitched border is by Gina Marie Designs.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #481 - Ombre

1Hello!
It's Thursday!
Boy, does it come around quickly every week!

It's time for another challenge at
Krafty Chicks Challenge!

Leanne is our hostess this week and her theme is Ombre.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #481 - Ombre
I thought I would switch it up a little and do a fall call, even though it doesn't feel much like fall anywhere.  I used stamps from Leaf Motif set by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I stamped them in all greens, Eucalyptus, Sage, Skylight and Hot Tub for my ombre look.  I stamped another big leaf in Hot Tub and fussy cut it.  Stamped the maple like leaf in Eucalyptus on vellum.  Then used some leaf dies by Sweet & Sassy stamps and cut one from Sage and silver foil.  The sentiment I cut from Eucalyptus and Hot Tub and then stacked them and placed them on top of a black border punched die also by Catherine Pooler.  I set the stamped layer on a bakcground of Hot Tub inked cardstock and set that on white card base.

Please stop by the Hen House and see what the rest of the Team has created along with our November Guest Designer, Claire.  Then, why not come and play along with us with our Ombre Twist this week!

Waving Hello

So how about a bit of summer sunshine on a crisp autumn day?

I made this card back in the summer for a Stamp Nation Penpal, I believe in August and have just never shared it.  I really love how it turned out so I plan on creating another one sometime.

Tropical Blessings!

Autumn Greetings

Hello again!
More cards to share.  I made a couple autumn cards a while back.  The first I sent to my Stamp Nation September Pen Pal.  The other one I made at the same time to use up more of my supplies.  The leaves for both I had in my stash since last year I believe.  So it seemed they needed to be utilized this fall.

The first card ---
The background is a sweater embossing folder I assume.  My August PenPal sent it to me with my card and so I thought I would use it for this card.  It fit perfectly with our inspiration board for September at Stamp Nation.

The leaves were made by gold embossing leaf stamps by Hero Arts onto vellum.  Then I colored the underside with Copics.  I cut a piece of black plaid stamped background to stick in front of the leaves, along with the gold embossed sentiment stamped on Eucalyptus inked cardstock.

The 2nd card ---
This layout I designed with raked leaves in mind.  These leaves were gold embossed  on alcohol inked background Yupo paper and die cut.  I inked another buffalo plaid background with Black Jack ink (Catherine Pooler), cut a stitched black frame (Lil' Inker Designs) to set on top.  Then I stamped and gold embossed the sentiment on a stitched circle die inked with Shea Butter ink.  The sentiment is from a Sursee kit by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Happy Winter

Ok, here's another winter card I made recently using products from Catherine Pooler's latest release, Retro Winter.

I first used a blender brush to blend the color, Hot Tub, onto watercolor paper.  Then I stamped the Shining Star background stamp in Versamark on it then embossed with gold embossing powder by WOW. I cut off the 1/4 of the bottom part of the white cardbase that was 4.25x5.5 and adhered a cut piece of white vellum a little longer than 1/4 to the bottom to replace the cardstock on the bottom. I then cut the background down to about 3-3/4 length and adhered it on the top layer.  I die cut the Polar Edge die out of gold foil cardstock and adhered it to the vellum. Next I die cut two white sentiment dies and one out of some Hot Tub inked cardstock, stacking them with the green on the top and adhered it along where the background met the vellum.  My final touch was adding some Nuvo Crystal Gems to some of the stars on the background and the snowflakes.

Colorful Friends

Hello again.
I have a couple more posts to share today. The first one is a card I made for my Stamp Nation PenPal. It was inspired by one of the Stamp Nation World Cardmaking Day challenges. The challenges were themed around various international holidays/celebrations.  The one I chose was the Holi festival from India.  I loved all the bright colors.

This is my card ---

The hand stamp and wavy stars are from Hero Arts.  The sentiment is from Jillibean Soup.  I used some irridescent silver star cardstock cut from a postal stamp die by Catherine Pooler Designs.  Everything was stamped in Catherine Pooler Inks.

Friendship Blessings!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #480 Winter

Good Morning!

It's time for a new challenge at
Krafty Chicks Challenge.

Lori is our host this week
and
her theme is Winter!

Winter usually means snow, unless you live in the south, where I do, and snow is nearly nonexistent.  We might get one fair storm (3-5 inches) a season, but most of the time it's just a dusting. I love having at least one big storm each winter.  Maybe my snowy white card will help bring some to the Triangle of NC this winter. ;)

I used some new dies from Catherine Pooler for my card.  The bottom is a beautiful edge die, Polar Edge die.  The word die, by Catherine Pooler also, is cut twice in white and once in gold foil.On the top half the two larger dies are part of the Snowflake Trio Die.  The smaller snowflake is by Taylored Expressions.  The gold stars are from Michaels.

Stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Team's projects and welcome our November Guest Designer, Claire Broadwater.  Then come play along with our Winter theme.

Warm & Wooly - CAS Christmas Card Challenge

Happy Sunday!

It's a new month and so it's time for a new challenge at

Trina is our hostess this month and she has chosen the theme of Warm & Cozy.

I had to think a bit for this one and then remembered my Llama die from Impression Obsession.  They're wooly, add a scarf and they can be cozy too! ;)

I had the sponged background (on watercolor paper) in my stash.  I sponged Hero Arts Unicorn white pigment ink through a snowflake stencil by Carta Bella to create the background.  Then I die cut the llama in the center.  I die cut the llama again in white cardstock and inlaid him in the middle. I cut the nose both in black and white and cut another llama in white glitter cardstock to use the glitter ears.  I inked up some cardstock in It's A Boy ink and cut out the scarf.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment onto the scarf.

Stop by the CAS Christmas blog and see the rest of the Team's "warm and cozy" inspiration.  Then play along with us this month.  There's just about seven weeks left before Christmas!  YIKES!
