Krafty Chicks Challenge #561 - All Occasions

Welcome!

It's Krafty Chicks Thursday!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #561 - All Occasions

I used another Altenew flower die cut from watercolored and inked homemade backgrounds.  I placed them on a grunge background stamped in the same color as the leaves.  I trimmed the background down and added a black striped patterned paper.

Leanne is our hostess this week so be sure and stop by the challenge blog and see everyone's projects, including our Guest Designer, Kim.  This week is Kim's last week with us.  We've been thrilled to have her with us!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #560 CAS (Clean & Simple)

 Good Morning!

It's a Krafty Chicks Challenge Day!  Diane is our hostess this week and our challenge is CAS (Clean and Simple).

Krafty Chicks Challenge #560 - CAS (Clean and Simple)

My card began with that cutie cat face by Picket Fence Studios stamped on a rainbow stenciled background using a stencil by Honey Bee Stamps and Catherine Pooler inks. I chose the stitched wonky square die by Lil' Inker Designs to frame her in with an outer black trim.  I finished her off with a word die by Papertrey Inks that I cut twice in black and once in white which I smooshed in Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder.  The other sentiment is by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Be sure and stop by the Krafty Chicks blog and check out the rest of the team's cards including our Guest Designer, Kim.  Then come play along with us this week with a CAS card!

Less Is More Guest Spot

Good Morning!  I am so excited and thrilled to be the Guest Designer at Less Is More this fortnight!  CAS cards are sometimes a challenge for me, although I have been doing more of them.  So I like challenges like LIM that give me a reason/chance to improve upon that technique as well.  This week is a sketch challenge:

I wracked my brain as to what to create for the sketch.  I had several ideas and then decided to use this cute little hedgehog.  I colored him in Copics.  The back panel is a raindrop mini plate die by cut from watercolored cardstock.  I stamped the cloud in a coordinating blue then stamped the sentiments in Midnight ink and then clear embossed it so it would stand out better.  I popped both the back panel up as well as the cloud and critter for more definition.  All products are by Catherine Pooler Designs.

I had a lot of fun creating this card.  This sketch is so versatile!  I know I will use it again in the future.

So come play along with Less Is More's sketch and let's see what you create!

Thank you again to Anita and the entire Less Is More team for having me guest spot!

Mom and Friend

Hi again!

Another Mother's Day card, this time for my mom.  It's been a year and a half since I saw my mom.  She only lives about three hours from us but with the Pandemic and the fact that she is in her mid 80s, we have only visited via video chat and texts.  Now that we all have our vaccines, hopefully we will see her this summer.

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you return again.

Beautiful Day!

Hello there!

Here's another Mother's Day card I made for my hub's stepmom, who loves flowers and gardening.  She is English and has a beautiful English garden in SC.  So I always try to make her nice floral cards.

I used the Altenew tulip dies, cut from homemade watercolored backgrounds I had in my stash.  The very back background also is a watercolored piece.  The sentiment is from the 'Beautiful Day Floral' set by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #559 Christmas

Good Morning!

It's Krafty Chicks Thursday!

I'm hosting this week's challenge, our Christmas Challenge ---

I gold embossed stamps from 'Peace, Love & Holly' (CP Designs) and then used my Zig markers and a water brush to color them then cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I also cut three of the 'Merry' mini die plate, one in white, one in the light green watercolored background and one in gold foil cardstock to create the background. Then stamped the 'Christmas'.

Stop by and check out the rest of the Team's cards at the Hen House, including our Guest, Kim!  Then come join us for some holiday crafting!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #558 - Stamp Act

Good Afternoon!

I'm a tad late sharing my post for this week's challenge over at Krafty Chicks Challenge. It's been a crazy two weeks here.  We had water suddenly pour through our laundry room ceiling from one of our bathrooms overhead, which eventually caved in the ceiling. 😒 Plumber and two restoration companies later, no one can figure out where the water came from (just our luck).  We have a 53 yr old house so we still have some glavinized pipes, which will repair themselves.  Yet, that doesn't help when you need to know from where the water came.  So, now we have a gaping hole in our laundry room ceiling covered in plastic as it was confirmed there is mold.  Two, I had my 2nd vaccine last week (YAY!) only to have two days of not so great side effects (BOO!)😔.  Three(don't things always come in threes?), our dog, Ellie, somehow bruised/sprained a back foot and we are now having to keep her inactive as much as possible and on pain meds.  How does one keep a 65 lb hyperactive dog calm and inactive for two weeks no less! 😒 So, I haven't had time to even really think of crafting much until now.  And barring nothing else major crops up the next few days, that's exactly I where I will be ---- my craft room!  😁

So with that, here is my post for Krafty Chick's Stamp Act challenge hosted by Leanne.

Be sure and stop by our Hen House and see the rest of the team's projects. Also welcome our May Guest Designer, Kim Heggins!  I'm so thrilled she's guesting with us!  She and I were part of Keeping Christmas Design Team together.  She's very talented, not just with card making but an awesome sewer!  She has an Esty shop too for her wares, RunningStitchDesign.  So give her a big welcome!  And then join us for our stamping challenge!
