I finally put together all my glitter embossed spiders with cards just in time!

The webs I've had for quite a while and are from Stampin' Up.  The spider dies were all cut out from Midnight cardstock and embossed with various colored embossing glitter by WOW.

Above, I splattered watercolor paper with Royal Treatment (Catherine Pooler Inks) and Gold Color Shine (Heidi Swapp). The sentiment I stamped in Royal Treatment.

The next two cards (below) I inked up watercolor paper with Catherine Pooler inks, embossed with a spider web emboss folder then added another web with the glitter spiders and spooky sentiments from Ellen Hutson. The blue spider was embossed with Wow Vintage Peacock embossing glitter.  The green one I used Splash and Crushed Ice emboss glitter by WOW for Catherine Pooler Designs.

Below, my final spidey card I used a background I had leftover from some Christmas cards where I had smooshed ink on cardstock with an acrylic block.  This one used Flirty Fuschia and Aquatini inks by Catherine Pooler.  It went perfectly with my chunky purple embossed glittered spider.  The sentiment dies I cut three times in white cardstock and then added white satin pearl emboss powder by Hero Arts to the top layer.  The spider was embossed in Wink emboss powder and Frisky embossing glitter by WOW for Catherine Pooler Designs.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #479 - Orange & Black

It's Thursday and October 31st!

πŸ‘» Happy Halloween! πŸ‘»
It's also time for a new challenge
at
Krafty Chicks Challenge.

Tangii is our hostess this week and she has a color twist for us.

Since it's Halloween, I made another spooky card for this challenge--

I made another ghost with dies, added some orange googly eyes.  The orange die frame was cut from some pearlized and watercolored homemade background.  I die cut the "Boo" word from the oval that was cut in the middle. I cute two more of the sentiment in black and bumped it up.

Stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the Design Team's projects for more inspiration.  It's our Guest Designer, Shanna's last week with us.  Be sure and give her some blog love as well.  Then come play along with us!

Keeping Christmas - October 2019

Hello!

TWO MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!

That's 8 WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!

Have you started your Christmas cards?

Whether or not you have,
check out the
 Keeping Christmas Inspirational Blog Hop!

If you're unfamiliar with the blog hop, every month on the 25th, the Keeping Christmas Team headed by our fabulous leader, Kelly Lunceford, share lots of wonderful Christmas projects to inspire you and boost your creativity to either begin or add to your Christmas card/paper project stash for Christmas.

I tried a background technique from a Holiday card class by Jennifer McGuire for this card.  I took some gold foil cardstock, stamped the background of trees, One Fine Pine background stamp(Catherine Pooler(CP) Designs) in Versamark and embossed them in Curacao emboss powder (WOW/CP Designs).  Next I used my embossing buddy and wiped over the background again, then took a brush of water to sprinkle water spots and then embossed them with white emboss powder (WOW) for snow.  I adhered the background to a white cardbase.  Then, I stamped the large tree from Christmas Tree Farm(CP Designs) in Garden Party (CP Ink) and used a white Sharpie paint pen to add snow to it.  For the sentiment, I inked up some cardstock in Rockin' Red (CP Inks) then cut out the "Merry" die from the Merry Mini cover plate (CP Designs).  I cut two more from white cardstock and stacked them up to adhere on top of the background and large tree.  Finally I stamped the "Holidays" on white cardstock in Midnight (CP Inks) and bumped it up with foam tape.

CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Winter Scene II

Hello Again!

It's time for another challenge post!
It's halfway through October (holy cow)!
So it's the mid-month reminder for the
CAS Christmas Card Challenge.

I feel like I need to explain my card a little.  I wanted something a little different.  I was going for an All American theme --- from the mountains to cities to country (the stitched snow drift).

I've been trying to use up my stash of homemade backgrounds.  This one is one made with the shaving cream technique and some pastel ink colors along with some gold shimmer by Heidi Swapp.  The photo doesn't show the gold shimmer in the background as well as it does IRL.

Please check out the rest of the Team's projects along with our Guest Designer,  Lyn.  There's still plenty of time to play along with us too.  You have until October 24th.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #477 - Ghost Card

Good Morning!

Hope you're having a good week!

It's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks.  I'm hosting this week.  Did you know Halloween is just two weeks from today.  I love Halloween.  I love seeing the kids dressed up in all their costumes and all the fun, spooky decorations.  So I have chosen another Halloween theme for our twist this week.

For this card, and several more I made, I created my own ghost from a couple die cuts.  I used a stitched oval die (Lil' Inker Designs) and a stitched cloud die from Lawn Fawn.  The goo die is by Your Next Stamp.  I cut it from cardstock inked up in Lime Rickey ink by Catherine Pooler.  I used the same ink to stencil the ink goo blots.  The stencil is from Tim Holtz.  The patterened background is Reverse Confetti and the stitched black frame is from Lil' Inker Designs.  The sentiment is from the Ellen Hutson set, Pumpkin To Talk About.

Stop by the Hen House and see the spooky ghost cards created by the rest of the Team! Then come play along and share your ghostly project us.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #476 - Be-Witched

Hello Thursday!
This week is zipping by!

It's already time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge.
Leanne is our hostess this week.  With Halloween coming soon, she's chosen a "witchy" twist...

I used an old die, witch leg dies by Taylored Expressions.  The stockings were cut from various alcohol inked backgrounds. I placed them on a watercolored "smooshed" background I had in my stash that I stamped the sentiment on with Versamark and then embossed in Wow "Black Magic" embossing powder.  I also die cut the background piece with a postage stamp die by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I then added it to a black cardstock and then all of it onto a white cardbase inked up in Flirty Fuschia.  The finishing touch was stamping the witch hat (Catherine Pooler Designs) in Wow Fine Gold embossing powder.

So stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the"Be-Witching" projects by the rest of the Chicks, as well as our Guest Designer, Shanna.  Then come play along and share your best "witch"project us.

CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Winter Scene

Good Afternoon!

It's a new month so there's a new challenge over at
CAS Christmas Card Challenge!
This month our hostess is Susan!

The theme for this month is Winter Scene.

My card began by making the northern light background using Catherine Pooler inks.  I used a star cutting plate on it to finish the background.  Next, I die cut the trio of stitched trees and glued on top of the background.  Then the double stitched rectangle was added on top along with the stitched label sentiment.  I added a final touch of shimmer inside some of the stars.

Be sure and stop by the CAS Christmas Challenge blog and check out the rest of the Design Team's cards and welcome our October Guest Designer, Lyn!  Then come play along.  Do you have your Christmas cards done?  Christmas is now less than three months away!  Hard to believe isn't it?

Card Recipe:
STAMPS: Sentiment from Christmas Tree Farm (Catherine Pooler Designs).
PAPER: White cardstock (Neenah).
INK: Lemongrass, Flirty Fuchsia, Grape Crush, Suede Shoes, Juniper Mist (Catherine Pooler Inks)
EXTRAS: Stitched label (Kat Scrappiness); Stitched tree die (Avery Elle), Star background-Starry Night Cover Plate (Catherine Pooler Designs); Nuvo Shimmer pen.

Krafty Chicks #475 - Scene

Good Morning!

It's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks!
Lori is our hostess this week and her theme twist is Scene.

I decided to use some NBUS products for this card.  I've had the Bayou die cut by Lawn Fawn a while as well as the frog stamps.  I used a watercolored background and also the pond is watercolored.  Everything else is colored with Copics. I shimmered the cattails and flowers with Nuvo Shimmer pen.

Be sure and stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Chicks' projects and welcome our Guest Designer for October, Shanna!
