Krafty Chicks Challenge #496 - All Occasions

Good Morning!

Happy Thursday!

It's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge.

Lori is our hostess and being the last Thursday of the month, our theme is All Occasions.

Our oldest turned 28 yesterday.  This is his birthday card. He loves Star Wars and I had this wookie stamp by Ink Road Stamps.  The background I've had and kept saving it for something special.  It was perfect for his card.

Stop by the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog and see what the team created and give a farewell to our Guest Designer, Shanna Slater as this is her last week with us.

Keeping Christmas - February 2020

Good Morning!
It's Tuesday, February 25th!
That means it's time for a new Keeping Christmas Blog Hop!
We are a Team of cardmakers who love making Christmas cards and do so throughout the year.  Our creator, Kelly Lunceford, created this blog hop for inspiration for Christmas cards.

This is an inspirational Christmas blog hop full of Christmas cards, tags, bags, other Christmas paper projects to inspire you throughout the year to help you get in the  mood to create Christmas cards all year round so by the time Christmas comes, you have quite a stash already made and ready to sign and mail.

This has been a really crazy month at our house (actually seems like that has become the norm lately).  We had new windows installed in the entire house, had to take up a new floor and re-install it after we had some water in our basement.  And then one of our cats became very ill, spent the better part of two weeks in and out of the hospital and sadly, he passed away this past weekend.  He was a special little guy to us and we are still heartbroken.

So, time in my craft room has been limited and my creative flow a no go, particularly now.  What I had begun for this month's hop I had to put on hold to finish for next time and keep it very, very simple.  I must say I do love the final product and it sparked a little mojo as well as comfort.

Using a couple of die cuts with a clean lined classic layout and stamped sentiment is an easy way to make some really nice, mass producible cards. The top layer I cut a simple circle in the middle. Using Versamark ink and my Misti, I stamped the sentiment under the circle cut and embossed it in WOW fine gold embossing powder.  I glued the sun ray die behind it and then glued the nativity on the top.  Next I trimmed some gold foil cardstock slightly smaller than A2 size and glued it to an A2 size white cardbase.  Finally I glued the front panel to the gold one.  The sun ray die is by PTI.  The nativity I believe is Memory Box and the sentiment is also PTI.  I used two different gold foil cardstock.

Now hop through the list below and check out all the gorgeousness from the rest of team:

Hope you enjoy our hop this month.  Be sure and come back next month on the 25th for new inspiration!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #495 - CAS

Good Morning!

It's Thursday AGAIN!  LOL

Time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks Challenge!
Tangii is our host this week and this week is the third week so it's our Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS).

(Clean & Simple)

Before all heck broke loose at the Salkeld's Sweet Suite, I was able to spend an afternoon making a couple cards.  This one I made for this week's CAS and also for CAS Mixup (Dies as Stencils) and CAS Stencil (Foiling).  I used a negative of the Simon Says Stamp heart die and spread some Foil paste on a cardstock cardbase.  I used the same die to cut several from various colors of foil to laminate onto the paste.  A few places came out a little bumpy, but the Hubs said it gave it character.  HAHAHA  I attached the "happy" sentiment die on top with a couple white heart dies and stamped the "hugs" with Catherine Pooler Midnight ink.

Grow Where You Are Planted

Hello again!

I'm trying to catch up on some blogging before I try and catch up on some stamping! (Fingers crossed)
I made this card with the Catherine Poolerstamps Veggies, Please from the In The Kitchen Collection.  My vision was a garden palette.  All of the veggies are from the Veggies, Please stamp set.  The woodgrain background is also by Catherine Pooler Designs. The sentiment is an old one from an old set in my stash.  I really love these veggies and have several more ideas for them - - - once I can get some significant uninterrupted time in my craft room and caught up on other projects as well.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Rainbow Hugs & Kisses

Happy Saturday!

It's sunny in Cary, NC today!  Things have finally settled down from our craziness.  Rory is doing better but not quite out of the woods.  Who'd have thought I'd get so elated over having a cat pee? LOL  Until Rory gets back to normal, eating/drinking/peeing-wise, everyday is a challenge to make sure he pees so he doesn't have to return to the vet for more treatment.  He's been diagnosed with FLUTD( Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease) - causes bladder/urinary obstructions.  Evidently it is common in male cats and begins around 2-3 years of age (Rory is 2-1/2). Lucky him, lucky us. We are hoping the meds he is on and change of diet and keeping his stress level down will help him avoid reoccurrence, which can happen.

So, we completely forgot about Valentine's Day yesterday.  I had hoped to have many cards made and mailed out but we just had too much happening for that to happen.  I didn't even get to share even one card so I'm sharing now.
I made this for the CAS Mixup Challenge in mind.  The challenge this month is use a die cut as a stencil.  I used the negative of a heart die actually as my stencil to create my line of rainbow hearts.  I used Catherine Pooler inks and a Picket Fence blending brush and blended my hearts one at a time beginning with the purple.  I thought I got them straight but they went a little south. So, I stamped the sentiment (Avery Elle - Favorite Person) under the left side to try and even it out.  I added some XO stamp images for some extra interest.

If you haven't played in the CAS Mixup challenge, go try it out!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #494 - Christmas

Good Morning!

It's Thursday and so it's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge!  I'm hosting this week and this is our Christmas Challenge week!

It's been a crazy month at the Salkeld's so far and my creative mojo has gone south.  We had been having windows installed in the entire house and it took longer than planned due to rainstorms off and on.  Then, those rainstorms left some water in our basement underneath a new floor.  So we had to empty the room and pull up the floor to dry it out underneath before putting it back together (this weekend).  FUN!  If that was not enough, our cat, Rory, became horribly ill and had to be rushed to the emergency vet and wound up spending two days in the hospital.  He just got home yesterday.  So it's been a very stressful, exhausting, busy ten days.
That is why I have not had much creative flow.  So, for this week's challenge I pulled together some dies for something quick.
I started my card by cutting out a poinsettia from background paper I created using the babywipe technique and distress oxide inks.  I also cut a background from a snowflake cover plate by Lil' Inker Designs out of Neenah white cardstock which was adhered to a cardbase.  The sentiment I had left over in my stash.  I love the poinsettia, but I'm not sure I like it on the final card.  I may have to just let it eventually grow on me.

Be sure and stop by the Krafty Chicks blog and see the rest of the team's Christmas cards as well as our Guest Designer, Shanna's.  Then, if you're done making Valentines, join us and make a Christmas card for your stash.

Love Vibes

Good Morning!

I've got two cards to share.  I've been trying out some different techniques and playing with the new Catherine Pooler Release products.  These two cards I used my Gina K wreath builder with two stencils, Off The Loom and Loop Braid from the In The Kitchen Release.

The first one I used It's A Girl, Be Mine, Sweet Sixteen and Pixie Dust inks by Catherine Pooler.  The die is from CP Designs, In The Kitchen.  The heart die is by Lil' Inker Designs and the emoji die is Spellbinders.  The sentiment is from Love and Stuff by Trinity Stamps.

This one I used the Loop Braid stencil with the wreath builder stencil.  I used eight ink colors: Rouge, Mandarin Orange, Sauna, Green Tea, Eucalyptus, Daydream and Sangria. The circle stamp is from the "Whipped This Up" set and the sentiment is from the "You Did It" set, both by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I added a few clear sequins from Crater Lake Mix (CP Designs).

Both of these cards are 4-1/4x4-1/4 with the inner stenciled layer being 4x4.

Love Blessings!
