A Little Note...

A Little Note...
Embossed Resist, Colorbursts, Gel Plate, Stamping, Die Cuts

This card was made with the 2nd panel from my Emboss Resisted panel from the previous post.  I placed a dark teal panel and a white stitched panel behind it.  Stamped the sentiments in All That Jazz ink (CP Designs).  Simple and sweet!  And again, to enter in CAS Mixup challenge in the final hours.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  See you again soon!

Just Because Blessings!

The New 30

Hello there
and
Happy Wednesday!

I have a card to share...

Embossed Resist, Stamping, and Die Cuts

I am scooting in just in time for the challenge at CAS Mixup Challenge.  I keep doing that it seems. LOL

My panel was created by white embossing the Folk Floral background stamp (CP Designs). I cut it apart to use in smaller panels. Then, I sprinkled three colors -Limoncello, Suede Shoes and Mardis Gras of  Catherine Pooler Color Bursts by Ken Oliver on a gel plate, spritzed with water and smooshed it onto the stamped cardstock. I wiped off the excess and let it dry.  Sentiment is from The Rabbit Hole Designs' Sassy Birthday set. I framed it with the negative of a postal die (CP Designs).

Thanks for visiting my blog. Please come again soon!

Embossed Floral Blessings!

Live In Color - Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #551 Hobbies

Hello Monday!

Hope you had a nice weekend.  The Hubs (rarely off for an entire weekend) and I did absolutely NOTHING but relax at home all weekend.  It was so nice and we didn't feel guilty one bit.  Well, maybe felt a little guilty but it was fleeting. LOL. Today however is back to the grind of responsibilities.

And one of those responsibilities is announcing the new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations this morning.

The new challenge is Hobbies.  Create a project showcasing a hobby, which if you're here and playing, obviously card making is your hobby.  So, it's create a project of a hobby within your hobby!  LOL

I chose art/painting and created my own watercolor background.  The paint palette, paints and brush stamps/dies are by Sunny Studio and was perfect for this challenge.  I stamped them in Catherine Pooler Inks to match my background colors.  I also applied some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the paints to give them a "wet" appearance.  The sentiment is from Sugar Pea Designs "Color of Life" set.  The colored stitched layer was ink to paper with Fiesta Blue ink.

Please stop by the Cupcake Inspirations blog and see the rest of the inspiration created by my fellow Designers.  Then come play along with us and share your hobby within a hobby.

I am also entering the challenge at Time Out Challenges, which is Create Your Own Background.

Card Supplies:
Stamps: Sentiment - Color of Life (Sugar Pea Designs); Color My World (Sunny Studio)
Paper: Neenah Solar White 110 lb; Watercolor paper (Strathmore); black cardstock ( Bazzill).
Ink: Party Dress, Tiki Torch, Limoncello, Garden Party, Fiesta Blue, Flirty Fuchsia, Sand Castle, Over Coffee, Buttercream, Midnight - Catherine Pooler Inks
Extras: Rectangle stitched frame die (Lil Inker Designs)'; Silver embossing powder (Stampin Up); Nuvo Crafty Glue.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you visit again soon!

Artful Blessings!

Peony Congrats - Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #550 Reminder

Hello!
It's another Monday Morning!

And, it's Week #2 at Cupcake Inspiration's current challenge, a color challenge.  I made a new card for the 2nd week.  It went to
Arrow's partner, Helen.  She finished her Masters in Library and Information Sciences this month.  She worked very hard over the last two years and we are all so proud of her!

I used the Altenew stamp set, Build-A-Flower Tree Peony, stamped in It's A Girl, Be Mine and Pucker Up, Twilight and Black Jack dye inks by Catherine Pooler. The background is a cover plate, Among the Seaweed, also Catherine Pooler.  The sentiment is from the Altenew set, Leaf Canopy.  I also added some embossing glitter to the middle of each flower for a little bling.

If you haven't joined us yet for this challenge, you have another whole week to do so.  The Challenge is open through Friday, August 19th.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you stop by again soon!

Pink Peony Blessings!

Hey There, Chatterbox!

Hey There!

I'm on a little roll with sharing some cards I've created over the last couple months that have not been shared as of yet.  This one I created from the SpringCardCamp2022 at Online Card Classes back in May.  This was from the first lesson on Ink Lifting.  It's a very easy technique.  It involves ink blending on cardstock, embossing a background stamp and then taking a small brush and water to lighten up the inside spaces of the pattern, the speech bubbles in this case.  I added the peek a boo critters donned in glasses leaving them just outlined stamped to keep focus on the background.  Then finished it all off with a speech bubble die cut from vellum for the sentiment die that was cut three times to add depth.

I really love this playful card and they fun background technique.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you come back soon!

Chatterbox Blessings!

Home Sweet Home

Good Evening!

I have been very bad about sharing a lot of cards that I have made over the last few months.  I've focused more on playing with techniques, stenciling and just stamping and coloring than pulling everything into finished cards a lot.  Then in June I spent 10 days dog sitting for our son and managed to put some together but still never posted them anywhere.  Some of them have been sent off to recipients at least.  Sometimes you just got to embrace a slower pace and process.  Am I right?

This card I made back in March (actually finished this one all at once) for our youngest son and girlfriend.  They moved in January to Richmond, Virginia and rented a 100+ year old home in the ChurchHill district.  I thought this Victorian style house stamp from the Happy Place set, by Catherine Pooler, was perfect.   I used the Negative Ink Layering technique by Jennifer McGuire for this card.  I did add a little "positive" inking, the black dog to be their dog, Jack.  I really love the way this turned out. The stencil on the background is "In the Square" by Catherine Pooler Designs and I used Catherine Pooler inks - Fiesta Blue, Mardi Gras and Something Borrowed.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.  Come back soon!

Sweet Home Blessings!

Hello Beach!

Hello!

How about a pretty tropical sunset to end the weekend?

Here's a colorful, tropical card perfect for summer!

I miss the beach a little even though I don't like going in the summer.  I'd rather go in late spring or the fall when it is less crowded and less heat.  Living within 3 hours of the coast, you'd think we'd go for several day trips even during those times.  However, we've only been for two days so far this year.  Maybe in the fall there will be a long weekend trip to get my beach walking fix.  TBD. 😉

For Following Challenges:

I'm glad you stopped by for a visit and hope you come again soon!

AAA Birthday Card Challenge Game #40 - Guest Designer

Hello again!

I am excited to announce that I am the August Guest Designer for AAA Birthday Challenge!

I am very honored to be guesting this month.

This month's challenge is Anything Goes Birthday!

I created this card using one of the lessons, Ink Lifting, from Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner's Spring Card Camp 2022 at Online Card Classes.  I love how this one turned out.  The background of this is actually the negative of the process.  I will show the positive one in another post.

The background stamp is Bohemian Lace by Simon Says Stamp.  On the positive panel it was embossed with clear WOW embossing powder on a panel of inked cardstock using Suede Shoes and Flirty Fuschia inks (Catherine Pooler). The panel was then spritzed with water.  A plain white cardstock panel was taped to that panel and both run through a die cut machine to get the second "negative" panel - what you see above.  It's really a cool technique that gets you two beautiful background panels.

The happy birthday dies and leaf die are by Catherine Pooler Designs. The leaf die was cut from inked cardstock using CP Inks, Serenade color I believe.

Stop by the AAA Birthday Challenge blog and check out all the inspiration by the Designers and then come play along this month and get some birthday cards created!

I want to thank the ðŸŽ‚ AAA Birthday Challenge ðŸŽˆ team and coordinators so much for having me Guest Design this month with them!  💕

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you visit me again soon.

AAA Birthday Blessings!

Treat Yo Self - Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #549 Week 2

Good Morning! Glad you're here!
It's Monday and also August already.
July sure flew by at least for me.

It's also Week #2 of the Frozen Treat Challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations.

I have to confess, I haven't worked with digital stamps for a while even though I have a nice file full of them. I had a lot of fun coloring these digis by PJ Moore.  How cute is this Chillin Bear Digi?   Orange creamsicles and orange PushUps are two of my favorite frozen treats and so I had to give him an orange creamsicle to lick!

For my background behind my bear, I used patterned paper, Summer Dreams by Echo Park cut with the Comic Burst die by Whimsy Stamps.  The word die is by Stamplorations that I cut from teal self watercolored paper in my stash.  The watercolor frame and backdrop was also in my stash, both which worked perfectly together and for this card.
