Papercrafters Unite Against Racism Blog Hop

Hello!

I'm thrilled to be participating in an important blog hop today.

Justine Hovey created this blog hop so that we may stand by our sisters and brothers of color, not just in the papercrafting community, but in all aspects of life, and to support the never ending fight for equality globally.

When I was deciding what to create, I decided to search for some anti-racism/BLM free printables and found some really great graphics at PopShopAmerica.  I printed them out and then using some various backgrounds, stamps and dies here is what I created...

If you would like to regularly support/follow some of our Black Crafters, Kristina Werner has an ongoing list HERE

Jennifer McGuire also has a List of some resources for anyone interested in learning more about how to help stop racism, educating children and others about racism, about systemic racism, white privilege, etc.

If you’re also looking for ways to help the Black community, please consider donating to one of the following charities:

Black Table Arts - organizes and brings in black artists into communities and provides creative spaces for leadership

The Loveland Project - helps provide therapy for black women and girls

Fair Fight - a movement to ensure free and fair elections

Black Girls Code - a movement to increase women of color in STEM fields and exposes girls to computer science and technology.

The Bail Project - mission to combat mass incarceration and reshape the pretrial system in the United States and helps reunite families.

Thanks for stopping by and for visiting, reading and learning about more ways of how you can support the Black community and anti-racism. The next person on the hop is Eva Costigan

"Fur" Dad

TGIF!

I actually have a non-DT card to share.

I've been creating here and there, mostly coloring images, creating backgrounds, just not much fitting final cards together other than for my DT responsibilities and a few special cards. Hopefully I will get more final products done soon. I did manage to finish this one ---

I made this for my Hubby from our cat, Annabella and our grand-dog, Ellie, who lives with us now.  I love how it turned out.  I just love this stamp set, Peeking Pets, by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I colored them with Copics.  The patterned paper is from the pack, Hipster, and the photo die, Instant Happy are also by Catherine Pooler Designs.  The "Father's Day" sentiment is from the CP Designs stamp set, Hey Mister.

Keeping Christmas Inspirational Blog Hop - June 25th

Good Morning, again!

Today is June 25th!

That means one thing on my blog and many others', time for a Keeping Christmas Inspiration Blog Hop!

I'm a little late posting today.  It's been one of those weeks. Who knew you could have so much going on without even leaving your house? I had started my project and then things went awry.  Nothing bad, just too many things all requiring attention at the same time.  Ever have days or weeks like that?

Anyway, below is my final project.  I had one thing in mind and then I wound up with something totally different.  I set the other thing on the back burner for now.

Not alot of fuss for this one.  Makes for a good masculine holiday card.

Be sure and hop through the list to see the rest of the Team's projects for this month:

Hope you enjoy our hop this month.  Be sure and come back next month on the 25th for new inspiration!

Please stay healthy and safe during this pandemic.  xoxo

Krafty Chicks Challenge #513 All Occasions

Good Morning!

It's time for a new challenge
at
Krafty Chicks Challenge.

However, before that, I must announce that we have lost one of our chicks, Tangii Crain.  She has decided to step down.  She is a new Gramma and so life is taking her in new directions.  We will miss her bubblyness in the Hen House as well as her fabulous creative talent,  but wish her well and happiness going forward.

It's the last week in June and so our challenge this week is All Occasion and hosted by Lori. All Occasion can be birthday, thank you, anniversary, get well, goodbye, etc.

My card today is also a PenPal card I created for my Stamp Nation April PenPal.  I started off by sponging the water scene with Catherine Pooler Inks, masking off the sun to create the sky and water.  I then added a "pinked" scalloped circle die behind it so it would pop off the embossed peach background embossed with a wave emboss folder by Stampin' Up.  I added the birds (Impression Obsession) and coral dies on top, with some sequins piled on for shells.  I stamped the sentiment (Catherine Pooler) in Coral Cabana ink on white Neenah cardstock backed with kraft cardstock and added a few sequins to it to finish it off.

Please be sure and stop by the Hen House and see Leanne and Lori's projects and also our Guest Designer's, Helene.  Then come play along with us.  The challenge ends on Wednesday, July 1st at Noon, Mountain time.

Krafty Chicks Challenge # 512 CAS

Good Morning, Thursday!

It's been a soggy and cool week here in North Carolina. I can't remember the last time it was in the 50/60s on a June morning!  Brrrr!  Not that I'm really complaining.  Usually it's like a sauna by mid June with 80/90s and high humidity.  Haven't ran the air conditioner in almost a week!

At any rate, let me get to business at hand, our new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge beginning today.  Tangii is our hostess this week!

I had the die cut butterfly sitting in my basket of UFO box along with the rainbow watercolored background and stitched kraft cardbase.  I have sooooo many UFOs I'm trying to decrease my stash before adding to it.  A simple sentiment from Catherine Pooler Designs and a couple enamel dots and done!

Stop by and check out Leanne, Lori, Tangii and our June Guest, Helene's projects for this week.  Then come play along with us with a Clean & Simple project!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #511 Christmas

Hello there!

This week sure flew by!  It's Thursday already!

We have a new challenge up at Krafty Chicks Challenge and I'm the host this week.  It's our Christmas week.  I don't know about you, but I could already use some chill in my days again!  It's been blistering hot and humid here in Cary, NC and it's not even the worst of summer yet!  ACK!

I made this card during the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp 2 last month.  It was using a technique with a gelli plate or if you didn't have a gelli plate, you could use the clear backside of a large photopolymer stamp.  Well, I had neither.  So I had to improvise and tried the back of a large red background stamp that had a coating on the back.  It worked ok.  It worked better for this part of the technique but not so much for the negative print.  I love how this one turned out.  I did actually break down and ordered a gelli plate, which has been on my list for a while.

The snowflakes are by Avery Elle.  The hexagon die is by Spellbinders and the sentiment is by Catherine Pooler Designs.  All inks are Catherine Pooler Inks.  The purple strip the sentiment is embossed on is cardstock inked up.  I also added some fun sequins.

Now visit the Hen House and check out the rest of the Christmas projects by Leanne, Lori, Tangii and our guest, Helene!  Then come play along with us!  Get chill and make a Christmas card!

Hooked On You

Good afternoon!

I have another post today.  I created a fun summery card for the JUGS challenge this week, which is to use two or more patterned papers.  I also have been wanting to play around with the new stamp set from Catherine Pooler Designs, Fly Daddy.  The patterned paper is from this bundle set and is called Too Fly.  I thought it would make a "reely" fun card.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #510 - Stamp Act

Good Morning!

Today is Krafty Chick's first challenge of June, Stamp Act, hosted by Leanne.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #510- Stamp Act
I made this card for my father-inlaw's 83rd birthday.  He used to have a Vespa when growing up in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, South Africa.  So my husband requested a card with a scooter.  I created the brick wall by using a brick stamp three times in Samba ink by Catherine Pooler Inks. I stamped the sentiment on top in Versamark.  I colored the scooter with Copics.  Added the "smoke" stamp and the embossed Dad sentiment.

Stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Team's projects and welcome our June Guest Designer, Helene!

We're All In This Together

Another post for the Spring Card Camp 2.  This was Day #2 Make Your Own Stripes. I used a digital stamped sentiment(Catherine Pooler Designs) on Neenah Solar white cardstock.  I cut the CP Designs Horizontal Cover Plate from white cardstock and used it as a stencil to make my stripes.  With a blending brush, I inked Pink Champagne, Hot Tub, Orange Peel and Sangria in the open lines.  I then took a gold Prismacolor pencil and drew gold lines.  I stamped some flowers in the same colors, die cut them and adhered them to the layer and then cut the layer to fit an A2 cardbase.  I finalized it with some gold sequins.

Safe Blessings!

Beautiful Peacock

Hello there!

Sharing one of my cards I made from one of the lessons of Spring Card Camp 2 at Online Card Classes.  This was Day #3 Dry Embossing with Stencils.  I used the Swoop stencil by Catherine Pooler Designs on a background created with Tim Holtz alcohol inks on yupo paper.  The peacock, Paisley Peacock (Catherine Pooler Designs) was stamped in Versamark and embossed in silver emboss powder.  The tail was stamped in Sweet Sixteen, Pixie Dust and Flirty Fuchsia.  I used the same inks to ink up the "Beautiful "sentiment die (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Beautiful Blessings!
