Faux Stained Glass Blessings

Here's #3!

I wanted to try the faux stained glass technique from Jennifer McGuire.  I used the Birch Leaf die from Neat and Tangled.  First, I used Orange Twist and Mardi Gras dye ink re-inkers on watercolor paper to create a colored leaf to die cut.  I cut the top leaf from Chocolate brown cardstock.  I also cut a base leaf from craft foam for the bottom.  Once I adhered all the layers together I added Tonic Crystal Glaze to make the stained glass.

Yellow Rose Metal

Hi again!
I told you I had lots to share!

This time it's for the CAS Mixup, which this month was Metal.  I decided to break out my old metalworks for it.  With my metalworks, I have some molds and templates to burnish and I had a rose partly burnished so I finished it and then colored it with some alcohol inks.

I used Metal, Stamping, Alcohol Inks and Die Cuts

4 Crafty Chicks #425 Finish The Inside

Happy Thursday Ya'll!

I'm late, I'm late for a very important date!

4 Crafty Chicks new challenge that is!

Amy is our hostess this week and she wants to see the inside of cards finished.

If you're like me, I don't always fix up the inside of the cards I create.  I sell my cards to my Hubs' coworkers a lot and they like having the empty white space inside to write their own message to the recipient.  If it is a holiday card and sometimes a birthday card, I will go ahead and stamp a sentiment inside.  Sometimes even for myself I leave the inside blank and then I may print out a poem to put inside for whomever my recipient is.

So here is my card ---
OUTSIDE ---

And Inside ----

Now stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Chicks' Projects they are reallly fabulous!  Then, why not join us this week and "finish the inside" of a card.  We love having you play along!

For Following Challenges:

I took my inspiration from the pink Jack-o-lantern and green spider in the photo.

CAS Christmas - Bird Reminder

Happy Wednesday!

We are halfway through October now - WOW!

Today is also Reminder day
at
CAS Christmas Challenge!

Susan is our hostess this month
and
 the theme is Bird!

We have a second round of inspiration for you today.

I've had this tree emboss folder for years and rarely have used it and thought it would be perfect for some tiny pink birds as a Christmas card.  I embossed it on the smooth side of watercolor paper.  Then I used a Zig marker and water brush to create a subtle winter sky behind the tree.  I sketched a horizon at the base. The birds were cut from inked cardstock using Rose Petal dye ink.  I applied versamark then Heat & Stick to the ground and then applied glitter to create snow on the ground.  I did the same to a few random spots on the tree including some of the trunk.  The photo doesn't show it well.  I stamped the sentiment in Stone Blue dye ink to finish off the card.

Stop by the CAS Christmas Card blog and check out the rest of the team's beautiful 2nd round projects.  Then, come play along with us adding to your Christmas cards, just remember to keep it CAS.  You have until October 24th to play along.

Card Supplies:
Stamps: Sentiment - Hero Arts.
Paper: Watercolor paper (Tim Holtz); White cardstock (Neenah 110 lb).
Ink: Rose Petal and Stone Blue (Catherine Pooler Inks); Versamark ink; Shadow Mauve (Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker).
Extras: Tree Emboss Folder (Cuttlebug); Bird die (Poppy Stamps); Glitter (Tim Holtz); Water brush (Tim Holtz).

Paper Sweeties October 2018 Release Rewind!

Happy Tuesday!

Today is the last day of the Paper Sweeties Release!

I thought I'd show another way to use Paper Sweeties' clothing, particularly since it's sweater/poncho weather. You can't see it but I put some shimmer on the two solid ponchos and the leaf and acorn.

Paper Sweeties October 2018 Release Party

Today is Paper Sweeties Release Party!

I created a card with a tag using many of the sentiments from the new "I'm Nuts About You" Set.  I stamped them with Versamark and embossed them onto alcohol inked Yupo paper.  I fashioned the scallop border from the Rectangle Scallop Frame and Oval Scallop Frame.  The acorn was stamped and embossed onto alcohol inked paper also.  I finished off the tag with Robin's Egg seam binding.

4 Crafty Chicks #424 - Pink Is New Orange

Happy Thursday!
I still can't believe it's already October!  Weather here is still August time so I'm really thrown off.  After Tropical Storm Michael passes by we are going to finally have fall weather I believe.  I think the whole southeast could have done without Michaels overall and just welcomed cool temps.

Well, let me get to the reason for my post ---- a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Put some pink on your project --- either replace orange with pink or just add pink!

It's October, time for pumpkins and all things orange and it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  So I thought a twist on color would be fun.

Here is my card ---
I used a spiderweb stencil and Catherine Pooler ink(It's a Girl) for my background.  The label is either by Taylored Expressions or My Favorite Things.  I cannot remember.  The witch hate, shoes, spider and flower are Catherine Pooler Designs stamps (see supply list below). The broom stamp is from Recollections.  I colored everything with Zig Real Clean Color Brush markers and/or CP inks. I sparkled things just a bit, adding some Wink of Stella to the shoestrings, hat band, broom band, spider and flower.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Chicks' projects and wander over to their blogs and leave them some blog love.  Then come play along with us, either using our twist of using the color pink or in our never-ending Anything Goes challenge.

Card Supplies:
Stamps: Sentiment-Tickled Pink (My Favorite Things); Witch hat, shoes, spider from Everything But The Broom (Catherine Pooler Designs); Broom (Recollections); Flower from Giggles- (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Paper: White cardstock (Neenah 110 lb solar white); Watercolor paper (Strathmore).
Ink: Midnight archival; It's A Girl, Party Dress, Sand Castle, Icing On The Cake, (Catherine Pooler Inks); Zigs Watercolor Markers; Clear Wink of Stella.
Extras: Label die (Taylored Expressions);  Coordinating dies for Everything But The Broom (Catherine Pooler Designs); Spiderweb stencil (Clear Snaps).
