Friendships Hug Our Hearts

Another card ---

Getting in under the wire with The Card Concept.

I made a pretty clean and graphic card.

I used the beautiful heart die from Paper Sweeties. The sentiment is an old one from MFT that went perfect with how I inlaid the mittens die.

You Complete Me...

Good Monday Afternoon!

Trying to make some headway on Valentines.

It's just around the corner you know!

Playing in some awesome challenges to boot!

A simple card for some CAS challenges ---

I cut the heart and puzzle piece out from some background paper I had made using my Twinkling H20 watercolors.  I cut the heart almost completely out on the white cardstock, but leaving enough that it still stayed on and would lift up so the pink heart could be lifted up to see the puzzle piece underneath.

The Challenge #57-Love This

Good Morning, Monday!

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr Day!

It's a very chilly day here in central NC so it's a great day to cozy up with a hot beverage and get crafty!

So what better way than to play the newest challenge at
The Challenge!

This week is an inspiration photo to beckon that crafty mojo!

Is that not just gorgeous?

It reminded me of a card I made a long time ago.  So I decided to use the photo and also kind of case my old card:

Today's card --
I started out making my own background sprinkling some Twinkling H20 watercolor paints onto paper.  Then, using the script stamp from the same set as the roses and sentiment from Fiskars, I stamped in taupe randomly.  The roses I stamped in Versamark, embossed with white emboss powder, then colored them in with my Twinkling H20 watercolor paints.  I love the shimmer those paints give off when they dry!  Then I fussy cut them all and placed them on top of half of a doily die cut out.  My final touch was some tulle, a burlap heart from Paper Sweeties and the popped up sentiment.

Now, check out the rest of The Challenge Design Team's gorgeous projects and leave them some blog love!

Paper Sweeties January 2016 Release Rewind!

Happy Saturday!

Today is the REWIND day
for the Paper Sweeties January 2016 Release!

Today, I'm featuring Snow Time Add-On: Sweet Treats stamps and Sweet Cuts Snow Time Add-On: Sweet Treats.  These coordinate with Snow Time Stamp Set and Snow Time Sweet Cuts using the globe from these sets to make the globe for the Sweet Treat gumball machine.

I love this set!  It is so much fun to stamp and create with it!  When we got these stamps I knew one way I was going to use this stamp set was to make a fish tank/gumball machine ---- and here it is!

I went to a card class this week with Debbie, (our fabulous creator and owner of Paper Sweeties).  She does local card classes a couple times a month and I hadn't been able to go for over a year, but I finally made it Tuesday and had a blast and met many more of Debbie's friends!  She used the new January Release stamps and chose teal and red for the card colors.  I loved the combo so much I decided to use those colors, plus black in my card for today.  And, there is a small splash of orange --- the fish, some tank "rocks" and orange sequins.

I stamped the globe on white cardstock with Versamark, and embossed it in fine black .  I used the fish stamp from the Surf's Up Stamp set and stamped and embossed the fish tin fine black emboss powder also.  colored the fish with Copics and rest of the globe. I stamped some tiny hearts from the "Valentine's Day sentiment in the Hello Friend Stamp Set  to make some heart bubbles.  I created my tank "rocks" just by making dots with the Copics.  I added Stickles to  the rocks for a little shine.  I cut another globe out of acetate and glued it on to the top of the stamped one.  I stamped, embossed and cut the red machine part and adhered it to the bottom of the globe.

I decided to cut out a Stitched Tags #1 Sweet Cuts heart and for the sentiment.  I added some orange, strawberry and clear sequins and strawberry baker's twine, all from Paper Sweeties, to finish it off.

Remember, all of the new stamps and dies are in the shop ready to purchase!

Paper Sweeties January 2016 Release Party!

TGIF Everyone!

It's Friday, January 15th ---

Do you know what that means?

IT'S PAPER SWEETIES RELEASE DAY!

YAY!

Today I'm featuring the With Love Sweet Cuts again, this time on a card.  I made it an inlaid heart within the patterned paper.  I cut the center of the patterned paper with the die. Then, I cut it in white and set the white scallop border part within the card.  Then I cut another heart out of the yellow patterned paper and popped it up a bit.  The "Love" sentiment is from Sweet Cuts Wish. The tiny hearts were cut out in red cardstock using the heart die from the Sweet Treats Sweet Cuts.

My Paper Sweeties teammates all have more new projects also to "ooh" and "aah" over too:

Paper Sweeties January 2016 Release Countdown!

It's Day #2 of Paper Sweeties Release Countdown!

New Paper Sweeties stamps and dies will
be available starting tomorrow (Friday, January 15th)
at
With Valentine's Day exactly one month from today, these stamps and dies are perfect for creating all kinds of cute Valentines, be it cards, tags, decor, whatever your heart desires!

Today I am featuring the stamp set, Snow Time Add-on: Sweet Treats.  It and the Snow Time Add-on: Sweet Treats Sweet Cuts coordinates with the Snow Time Stamps and Snow Time Sweet Cuts.

I stamped the globe and machine base in Versamark and embossed them with silver emboss powder.  Then, I masked them off and used the gumball stamp to make my background, stamping it randomly in Versamark again.  Then I embossed each one with silver emboss powder and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers.  I did the same to the gumballs inside the machine but then cut them out with the gumball sweet cut.

The top of the machine and the 5 cent strip was stamped on silver paper, embossed with the silver powder and cut with the coordinating sweet cut die.  The pink heart I cut from the same pink paper as the scallop frame.

That "sweet" sentiment comes with the stamp set too and I stamped it in Danube Blue on vellum paper and glued it to a white cardstock cut in the same banner from the Be Happy Sweet Cuts set.

Now, check out the rest of the Design Team's blogs and check out what they have created with these new super fun stamps and dies!

Paper Sweeties January 2016 Release Sneak Peeks!

Happy Wednesday!

Today is Paper Sweeties Release Sneak Peek Day!

The new stamps and dies are absolutely "love"lies!

They will be released in the Paper Sweeties Shop
on
Friday, January 15th ---
just two days away!

Today I am sharing a 3D project I've made using the new With Love Sweet Cuts die.

When I started playing around with the heart die, which I just love, I decided to make some hanging heart ornaments.  For each hanging ornament, I cut four of the scalloped border heart from white, red and pink cardstock.  I also cut four of the inner hearts for the inside out of various pattern papers.  I glued four heart borders together first.  Then, I glued four hearts together, matching up one side to one side of another pattern.

Before inserting the small patterned hearts into the frame, I hole punched a small hole in the center then used fishing line.  I used fishing line so they would appear to just "float" in the air, but ribbon or twine or string could also be used.

Be sure and hop over to the rest of the Design Team's blogs and check out what they have created with these new super fun stamps and dies!

If you didn't see the Planner Stamp Line Release yesterday, be sure and check that out too!  Debbie is creating a new line of stamps just for planners.

Also, check out this month's inspirational challenge at Paper Sweeties and play along!  You might be the next challenge winner!

I must send a "thank you" shout out to my "props assistant", my hubs, Dave, for holding up the dowel rods of my floating hearts so I could photograph them "floating".  Craft assistant by day, nurse by night - got to love him!  He is very supportive of my "obssesion", I mean "passion"!

And here's my project --

I used a stamp by Unity stamps and after stamping it with Memento Tuxedo Black, I watercolored it.  I did it once on watercolor paper and once on heavy white cardstock.  This one above, my final project, I used the one on heavy white cardstock.  I just liked the way the colors came together more with it.  I am still going to use the other one and will post it once I do so you can see the difference.
