EXTRAS: Chat bubble die (Simon Says); Cheers die (Winnie & Walter); Beer mug dies (Your Next Stamp); Chevron emboss folder (Darice); candy dots (Stampin'Up).

Just Ducky...

Happy Sunday!

I won't say Brrrr!- because it seem's like it's becoming a bad habit these days!  I certainly hope winter for everyone is just about over.
But if your Sunday is still a little on the frozen side, grab a hot beverage and come check out

Our sponsor this week is Newton's Nook Designs!
They are offering our winner a $20 Gift Certificate to their online store.
That's a wonderful prize!

Our inspirational photo this week is here:
Our theme this week is ---
CUTE CRITTERS

Stop by the CIC blog and check out my teammates projects.  Also, we have several guest designers this week from our sponsor, Newton's Nook who have joined in sharing some of their own critter cards!  Don't forget to leave them all some blog luv either!

Then, link your own critter themed project up with the Inlinkz.  You just may be the lucky winner!

Below is my card using Newton's Nook stamp set, Spring Shower.

I just thought that little duck was so cute with his umbrella and boots!  I decided to go all orange (you know what they say these days! lol) or almost all orange.
SUPPLIES:
STAMPS: Spring Showers (Newton's Nook).
PAPER: White cardbase (Bazzill); Peach marmalade. DP - Recollections.
INK: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Copics for puddle and drops.
EXTRAS: Orange enamel hearts (Teresa Collins).

I decided to leave the duck uncolored and just paper piece the umbrella and boots for more colorful flair.

Hello Sunshine!

Happy Chilly Thursday!  Brrrr!  It's downright cold to the bone today!  I think we were down to a 4 this morning?  A major low for our neck of the south!  Schools closed for a 3rd day today due to the extreme cold.  I don't blame them! I'm still trying to get over my sinus/head cold, day #6 and I think 90% gone.  If you heard my voice, you'd think otherwise, but that my near gone voice is also due to the BIG Tobacco Road rivalry game last night (UNC VS Duke) - Go HEELS!  lol  The Tar Heels couldn't keep back those Blue Devils last night!  Darn it!  But they've got another chance coming in March on Tar Heel turf!  We'll see if that helps!

Anyway, I digress.  I was suppose to have this card up this morning and well, as stated above, I've been mostly in bed or on the couch for the past several days.  So, I didn't get to finish this card until a little bit ago.  I still have another one from earlier in the week to finish also.  Hopefully that one will be posted later today too.

This one is for 2 Cute Ink Digital Stamps Facebook Group.  The 2 Cute Ink Challenge DT Team is trying to share cards featuring Heidi's fabulous digis each day of the week to spread some inspiration around and also bring in new 2 Cute Ink fans!

Here is mine for today:

I used one of 2 Cute Ink Country Horses today.  I decided to make her rainbow style for a bright and colorful card to cheer up this brrrrish winter day.  I also thought she would be fun as a shaker card.  I fussy cut her and affized her to the sunshine background.  Then, I poured some party confetti sequins and white glitter inside with her.

Supplies:
Stamps: Country Horse (2CuteInk); Hello Banner (Paper Sweeties); Sunshine sentiment (Simon Says);
Paper: White cardstock base.  Hello Sunshine (Lawn Fawn).
Ink: Copics on Digi and hello banner; Tuxedo Black (Memento).
Extras:  Stitched rectangle mat (Lil' Inker Designs); banner die (Paper Sweeties); Tab die (Taylored Expressions); Bubblegum tea stained seambinding ribbon (Paper Sweeties); Baker's twine; Teal button; Party sequin confettie (Pink Posh); white glitter.

Happy Birthday, Ella!

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend celebrating love with friends and family!  I know many feel left out of Valentines Day if they are single, but truly, friendship is the best kind of love out there and so everyone should have a friend to love and be loved by!  Just my 2 cents worth.

On to topic ---

BIRTHDAY Theme

On February 9th, "Ella" and The Pink Elephant Challenge celebrated it's 6th Birthday!

In honor of TPE's birthday this month, this week's winner will be Guest Designer for the month of March with Ella and all of us at The Pink Elephant Challenge!  YEA!

So pop over to the TPE blog and check out the rest of the team's projects and be sure and link up your own for a chance to be part of the team in March!  It's so much fun!

Here's my card ---

I recently found some neon emboss powder and was going to play along in another challenge a couple weeks ago and then didn't.  So, I thought it would be fun to finally try it out for this week's card for Ella's Birthday theme.  It turned out pretty well I think.  The neon orange doesn't work as well as the other colors for some reason.  I used the party hat stamp from Taylored Expressions, stamping in Versamark each time and then embossing with the powders.  I decided to fussy cut two of them and pop them up. I found neon paper in my stash too for the background purple and die cut streamers from it the neon paper as well. The sentiment I die cute into the purple background and then cut 3 more purple ones and a neon green one to pop it up more on the card.   Very eye popping and bright, huh?  Sometimes you just have to go bright!  LOL

Masterpiece of Nature - The Challenge #25

It's Monday, and that means time for another color/sketch combo from The Challenge!

You can use the colors, the sketch OR BOTH!  Use any products your heart desires!  Go to Lesley's blog and check out what the rest of the design team has made today.

Unfortunately, I don't have my card up yet.  Since Wednesday, I've been battling a sinus cold which each day has seemed to intensify, not only in amount of sneezing, coughing, chills and sweats, but also in zapping my energy level.

Try as I might, after getting three other cards for other teams completed (only God knows how), I had to admit defeat, apologize to Lesley and crawl into bed for all of Sunday.  Not that I got any real sleep mind you.  I just lay there hoping for either clear breathing or sleep, one or the other, didn't have to happen together!  lol

If that isn't bad enough, my Hubs has been in bed since leaving his shift early Wed night due to feeling awful himself. He rarely gets sick but when he does, it's epic. Yep, been home since then with diagnosis of bronchitis/pneumonia!

We seem at the present to be a pretty pathetic couple:  1)Both of us are too sick to venture out to grocery shop resulting in mega delivery bill from Jason's Deli for hot soup and sandwiches; 2)Valentines Day was sneezing and coughing not cuddles and kisses; 3) First snowstorm for our region slated to hit, bringing 3-5 inches of snow, just as Hubs is to return to work on Tues.  If I didn't know any better, I'd think our name was Murphy.  lol

At any rate, hopefully I will have a card to share later today and also make it out to the store!  Those are my only goals for the day, oh and a shower!  I also apologize for any illogical, fuzzy speaking here for I'm waiting for the Nyquil to kick in!

Happy Challenge Blessings!

Brag Alert!

So, it's Monday again.
This Monday is proving to be a challenging one for much of the U.S. too, weather-wise.  Here in the Triangle of NC (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) we are forecasted to receive our 1st SNOW of the 2014/2015 winter season --- 3-5 inches possibly.  That will pretty much bring everything to a halt for at least two days.

I know, I know, many of the rest of you, particularly in the midwest, north, and northeast are probably rolling your eyes thinking ---- seriously? we've been buried in the white stuff for weeks or months now!

That's how it rolls here in the south.  We've had a very mild winter.  Yet, we have the reminder our last mild snowstorm last February, which shut down roads all over the Triangle in a blink of an eye!

It's really strange to me too that such a little bit of snow paralyzes an area known for it's "relocated yankees".  In fact, Cary (my town) is known as "Concentrated Area of Relocated Yankees" because we get have so many northerners transplanted here, present company included!  LOL

Well, at least even if the south is snowed-in there's something fun to do -- a new challenge
at

Stop by the 2 Cute Ink blog and check out the rest of my teammates projects!  Then link up your own.  You don't have to use a 2 Cute Ink image, but we love seeing them when you do!  And don't forget to check out the 2 Cute Ink Facebook Group and join!  Lots of fun there with the monthly newsletter and other info on what's happening with Heidi and 2 Cute Ink!

This week, we are using "Pitbull Pup", which Heidi recently created and it is available in her store on Etsy. He's so cute!

I colored him with Copics, Blicks and Spectrum Noir markers (waiting on new markers from Spectrum Noir for a more complete set of something). The paper is from Die Cuts With a View Basics.  The circle die and flag tie die are from Lil Inker Designs, the stars are Sizzix Framelits, the chat die is from the bargain bin at Joann's, and finally some brown ribbon.

Espresso Yourself

Happy Sunday!

Boy, it's the middle of February already!  Time is flyin' by!  Hope everyone had a wonderful "love" day yesterday!  The Hubs and I are both sick so ours was pretty blah.  I did manage to cook us a nice dinner and he watched "You've Got Mail" with me (til he fell asleep).  lol

Today is time for more sweetness too ---
with  a new challenge at

This is a Color Theme week -

Blossom ~ White ~ Black

Stop by the Cupcake blog and check out the rest of the design team's projects and leave them some blog love.  Then, link up your own project to share with us!

Below is my card.  I used the "Thanks a Latte" stamp set and coordinating die set from Your Next Stamp.

I also used my Tim Holtz splatter stencil dabbing it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the cotton candy cardstock panel.  Then, I dry embossed it with the Tim Holtz grungy dot emboss folder. I only embossed the middle section using a small hammer to lightly tap the emboss folder where I wanted the pattern.  I stamped the coffee cup and lid onto patterned paper and cut a cup cozie from the same patterned paper.

The background is a template from Papertrey Ink.  The doily is a die from Quickutz. Photoframe, large arrow and lips are Taylored Expressions. Heart banner is Penny Black. Quite Like You

Hello again.  Sharing another card I made for the 2 Cute Ink Facebook Group.  I used Heidi's "Country Pig Couple" digital stamp and colored it with Copics and Blick markers.  Coloring for me these days is somewhat frustrating.  I desperately need some other shades or whole new set of markers. I also discovered I've run short of mini pearl gems.  So I had to use the next size up, which I wasn't happy about either.  They're growing on me.  Gives the card some depth. I soooo wish I had been the North Carolinian who won the Powerball today!  Oh, the stamps and dies and markers and goodies I could have bought!  Oh well, perhaps another day and another Powerball!  LOL

I used the sketch at Showcase Your Style.  I haven't played in this challenge before.  Thought I'd give it a try.  Always up for something new!

Kiss Me

Good morning!  Happy Thursday!

Hopefully this is the first of several posts today, or at least that is my plan right now.  So, first off, I'm getting under the wire with this one.  Made it, then forgot to post it.

It's sweet and simple!  The kiss is a stamp from Raisin Boat.  I stamped it on glitter paper and fussy cut it. I roughly sketched around the stamp on vellum to make the top wrapper.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and I stamped it in Rose Bud from Memento.  The "xoxo" stamp (stamped in Moonlight white from Memento) and "xoxo" die are from Technique Tuesday.
I made it for these challenges:
