4CC #352 - Father's Day {Lori}

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

It's the last Thursday of May, WOW!
Getting closer to summer, y'all!

However, let's savor these last few days of May starting off with a new challenge at

Lori is our hostess this week
with the theme
of

Father's Day in the U.S. and Canada
is on June 18th
so this gives everyone the chance
to create
Father's Day projects early.

I recently purchased a few new masculine stamps and so I used a couple on my card ---

Stamps: Hipster (Stampers Anonymous), Sentiment - "Go Wild" set (Gerda Steiner).
Paper:  Watercolor paper; Kraft and lime green cardstock.
Ink: Black Archival ink (Catherine Pooler); Pumice Stone, Distress Ink; Black onyx (Versafine).
Extras: "Dad" word die (Lil Inker Designs); Wonky stitched rectangle dies (Stamplorations); candy dots (Stampin'Up).

Check out my fellow Chicks' projects and leave them some blog love!

Mahalo

Happy Hump Day!

It's already Wednesday.  The week is flying by.

I'm squeaking in last minute in the
Time Out Challenge ---

I've been wanting to play with the tropical set from My Favorite Things and I just got the wave dies from MFT also.  I had the inked up "sun" in my stash and thought it was perfect for this card.  So a quick CAS card for the middle of the week!

Mahalo Blessings!

Stars n' Stripes Birthday

Still on a roll with another post!...

I made this card for one of the Hubs' colleagues for her brother's birthday.  She requested a patriotic theme since he was in the military.

Graduation Shaker

Hello again!

Catching up on some posting.  I made a couple graduation cards for my son and daughter inlaw.  My son got his Master's in History and my daugther inlaw got her BA in History two weeks ago.  The hubs and I flew out to Oklahoma to attend the ceremonies and to spend some time with them afterwards.  I am so proud of both of them!  They've worked really hard!  And they're not done yet.  My daughter inlaw is going on to get her Master's and my son is going to be teaching at the university they just graduated while she gets her Master's.  Then my son will go on for his Ph.D. in Sports History once his wife has her Master's.

This is the card I made our daughter-in-law, Helen ---

Inside of Card

Stamps: Front sentiment - Grad Class (Lil Inker Designs); Inside sentiment (DRS Designs); Tassel stamp (DRS Designs).
Paper: White and navy cardstock.  Gold glitter patterned paper (stash); gold glitter paper (stash).

Vintage Mother

Good Morning!

I feel like I've been away for a long time even though I've had several posts in the last week.  We were in Oklahoma most of last week, flew home on Thursday and haven't stopped since we landed it seems!

With picking up pets, getting groceries, doing errands, having an early Mom's Day with our youngest son and then the insurance guy and roofer here early Saturday morning, I feel like we were home for a week the first two days back!

I'm sharing the card I made my mom for Mother's Day.  I mailed it before I went out of town to make sure she received it in time.
Stamps: Vintage Flowers (Lil' Inker Designs); Sentiment (WPlus9).
Paper: Cream cardstock; DIY Painted cardstock.
Ink: Tiara, Sweet Sixteen and Mint To Be (Catherine Pooler);
Extras: Leaves Cover Panel (Reverse Confetti); white pearl gems.

The panel was cut from background paper I had made using the shaving cream technique.  The pastel ink colors I chose matched perfectly with it.

4CC #351 - Wedding {Tamie}

Happy Thursday!

Wow, this week has just sped by!  Can't believe it's almost the weekend.

Of course, I don't want to wish away Thursday because there's a new challenge up at
4 Crafty Chicks!

Tamie is our hostess today and she has chosen the theme of Wedding cards for this week.

I had a lot of ideas for this challenge and this is what I finally chose:

Inside

Stamps: Marriage Sentiment outside and inside - Flourishing Phrases (Stampin'Up); Mr/Mrs-Perfect Pairs (Raisin Boat); Flower inside - Flourishing Phrases (Stampin' Up).
Paper: Brick pattern (Recollections); White cardstock; Pink Pirouette cardstock (Stampin'Up); silver paper (stash).
Ink: Pink Pirouette (Stampin'Up); Gray Flannel (Memento).
Extras: VW Die (Flora & Fauna); Stitched Rectangle die, Rounded stitched rectangle die and rounded tag (Lil Inker Designs); Scalloped rectangle die (WPlus9); pink candy dots (Stampin' Up).

I have to admit photographing this card was a journey in itself.  For some reason it just wasn't working yesterday.  One of those days!

Stop over at the Hen House and check out Tamie, Leanne, and Lori's projects then visit their blogs and leave them some blog love too.  We hope you'll ink up some stamps and play along this week and share your wedding themed cards with us!

Paper Sweeties May 2017 New Release Sneak Peeks!

Happy Mother's Day!

It's Sneak Peeks Day
at
Paper Sweeties!

Nothing like almost missing the entire Sneak Peeks Day!  It's been a crazy few weeks for me.  Been dealing with a leaky roof since heavy storms three weeks ago and then also went out of town for graduation for my son and daughter inlaw.  Returned Thursday and it's been hectic again with roof/insurance people here, unpacking, errands, etc.  It was nice to get a way and have a break but life slammed us right on our return.  So finally, I have my post up for today!

There are several cute new sets this month:

The Design Team has some adorable projects for the first of three Release days for you to see.  Just hop through the names below:

I was trying for a shadow effect to simulate the ball actually moving. I used the basketball and sentiment from the new set, Score, the stitched square from Window Elements and the star spray from Be Happy.

Tomorrow is Release Day and all the new stamp/die sets will be available in the Paper Sweeties Shop for you to shop til you drop!  So be sure and come back and see more fabulous inspiration from the team!

Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series - May 2017!

Happy Saturday!

It's the weekend
AND
it's the start of
Paper Sweeties Release Week!

Today is
Plan Your Life Series!

The PS Planner Team has lots of fabulous inspiration for MAY planners ---

Nancy Salkeld (You are HERE!)

I decided to use a graduation theme for my planner this month. Our oldest son, Patrick, and our daughter-in-law, Helen, both graduated the first weekend this month from the University of Central Oklahoma. Patrick graduated with honors with a Master's in History and Helen graduated Cum Laude with a BA in History.  Patrick also received two special graduate of the year awards from the History department and as President of Phi Alpha Theta History fraternity.

Can you tell I'm a bit of a proud mama? ;)  We spent a week out there doing some shopping, museum-ing and TopGolfing. We hated to leave.  Yet, roof repairs and other house projects awaited us on our return.

Come back tomorrow to check out the Sneak Peeks of the new release!  And remember also, our inspiration challenge is also still going on through May 31st.  Share your own project inspired by our inspiration photo in the Inlinkz on the Paper Sweeties Blog!
