Krafty Chicks Challenge #492 - Anything Goes

Hello Thursday!

Each month with a 5th Thursday, Krafty Chicks Challenge has an Anything Goes Challenge.  Today happens to be the 5th Thursday of January.  Each member of the Design Team hosts one of the 5th Thursday challenges and today our hostess is Leanne!  Let the free creativity flow!

I decided to make a little 3D project for this challenge.  Valentine's Day is around the corner.  I made another "Valentine can".
A couple years ago I made one inspired by my childhood school Valentine boxes we would create for classmates to slip in valentines.  I created one to slip in encouraging notes and love notes to my hubs, one for each day of February.  This year I may slip in some little chocolates as well.

I used a peanut can.  Measured around it and the width and wrapped it in patterned paper.  Then added some stamped images, a stamped sentiment, and die cuts.  Cute and simple.

Please stop by the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog and check out the rest of the Team's projects. Also visit our Guest Designer, Jill's blog.  This is her last week guesting with us.  Give her a big "thank you" and warm goodbye.  And, come play along with us and share ANYTHING your heart desires!

Keeping Christmas - January 2020

Hello there!
Welcome to a new year of Keeping Christmas!

We are a Team of cardmakers who love making Christmas cards and do so throughout the year.  Our creator, Kelly Lunceford, created this blog hop for inspiration for Christmas cards.  We have had to say a sad goodbye to some of our previous team members who went on to other endeavors.  We will miss them dearly.  Yet we have several  new members filling their spots and we are excited to have them on board.  Welcome Marybeth Lopez, Nancy Penir and Carol Hintermeier!

Our premise is still the same --- an inspirational Christmas blog hop full of Christmas cards, tags, bags, other Christmas paper projects to inspire you throughout the year to help you get in the  mood to create Christmas cards all year round so by the time Christmas comes, you have quite a stash already made and ready to sign and mail.

Being that Christmas was exactly just one month ago today, I still had alot of Christmas things out on my craft table.  It seems I always have some projects I but then don't materialize.  I have a box full of various different Christmas dies that have were cut and then left unused and so I pulled those out to make my card.  Everything on my card I already had created and didn't use or was a leftover  or cut.  The background was a watercolored pine tree stencilI cut down to fit inside the brown frame. I wasn't planning on a masculine card, but now I have a masculine Christmas card for my stash and less leftovers.

Below is the Design Team list you can hop through and check out all the fabulous projects:

Hope you enjoy our hop and leave with lots of holiday inspiration!  Be sure and come back on the 25th of each month from now through November (we take December off to enjoy family holiday time)!
Keeping Christmas Blessings!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #491 Occasions

Hello!

It's a cold Thursday here in North Carolina.  Winter has finally made it south at least a little bit.  I don't mind a wee bit of snow (3-4 inches) but the cold temps I can do without.  That's why we moved south, to stay warm most of the year!  Yet, I can't complain because I know many more in the west, north and northeast are getting pummeled with snow and colder temps than us. Now to business at hand, today's challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge.

Lori is our hostess this week.  This is the fourth Thursday and so our fourth Thursday challenge is Occasions(birthday, anniversary, various different holidays, etc).

If you have been following us all month, you know we have changed our challenges this new year.  Here is the schedule we will now follow each month:

Week 1
Stamp Act
(must have a stamp/digi image on card/project)

Week 2
Christmas
(must have something with Christmas on it)

Week 3
CAS
(Clean and Simple)

Week 4
All Occasions
(Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's, etc.)

Week 5
Anything Goes
(When there are five Thursday's in the month)

So here is my card for this week's Occasions challenge...

This month is Stamp Nation's 9th Birthday and for the Penpal swap this month we were to make a birthday card to send to our Penpal.  You might laugh, but I got my inspiration for my card from a tissue box.
It also reminded me of a technique Jennifer McGuire showed last month on her blog, stacking dies and embossing with them.  She mostly did parts of a card that way but I decided to do the whole front of my card and then use the fun Square Dance stencil by Catherine Pooler Designs. I masked the center square before stenciling.  I used Fiesta Blue and Garden Party inks by Catherine Pooler with blender brushes (Picket Fence Studios).  I've listed the rest of supplies below.

Please stop by the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog and check out Leanne, Lori, and Tangii's projects as well as our Guest Designer, Jill's.  Come play along with us this week. I'm sure there is an occasion coming up in which you need a card made.

For Following Challenges:

Card Supplies:
Stamps: Sentiment f/m Birthday Icons (Catherine Pooler); Images - Celebrate Friends (Catherine Pooler).
Paper: Neenah solar white 110 lb
Ink:Party Dress, Fiesta Blue, Garden Party, Midnight (Catherine Pooler).

Krafty Chicks Challenge #490 CAS

Hello Thursday!
Today is the day for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks.  Tangii is our hostess for our third week, which is CAS- (Clean & Simple).

So I'm still trying to use up a lot of die cuts and backgrounds I've created and stashed away.  The butterfly on this card is one of those.  I have a small box of embossed enameled die cuts I created about 2-3 years ago with Bonnie Klass one day at her house.  I think it was probably three years ago.  WOW, time flies!  Anyway, I have about four butterflies and some other images that I was playing around with to create a CAS card for this week.  So of course, then, I had a hard time choosing which one and which layout I wanted to use, keeping in mind to stay CAS.  You'd think by now, me being on another Design Team that is all CAS creations, I'd be pretty adept to CAS cards, but nope! I need a buzzer that goes off when I get carried away with adding things saying "step away from the card"!  LOL  I finally made up my mind and went with what you see.  I love that butterfly.  It is cut from thin chipboard, a cereal box I think and embossed with some yellow and gold emboss powders.

The sentiment is from a stamp set by Catherine Pooler Designs (CPD), Fluttering Friends, stamped in Twilight ink by Catherine Pooler Designs. I cut out a label die by My Favorite Things to stamp the sentiment and popped it up with some dimension adhesive on the embossed background.

Don't forget to stop by the Krafty Chicks blog and all of the Design Team's projects, including our January Guest Designer's, Jill.  Come play along with us and create a CAS card or two!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #489 Christmas

Good Morning!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge.  I'm your host this week too!  Woohoo!  We have changed up our challenges a bit, having the same four challenges every month.  The second week will be the Christmas challenge.  You MUST have something Christmas on your project.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #489 - CHRISTMAS

I still had some Christmas card parts lying around my craft room and so I pulled some together.  The background was already stamped in a kinda-sorta type ombre look.  The flowers I had all the parts stamped and so all I had to do was die cut them and put them together.  So basically the only thing I had to do from scratch was ink some cardstock to make the green border, stamp the sentiment, put everything together and add the sequins.  I love it when a plan comes together quickly!  All of the stamp images are by Catherine Pooler Designs --- Vintage Baubles background, Boughs and Berries (flowers) and Making Spirits Bright (sentiment).  The sequins are Cincinnati mis from the Retro Winter collection.  Everything was inked up in Catherine Pooler Inks - Sangria, Hot Tub, Orange Peel and Pink Champagne.

Don't forget to stop by the Krafty Chicks blog and see the rest of the team's projects, including our January Guest Designer's, Jill.  Then why not get ahead for next Christmas and play along with us.

CAS Christmas Challenge - January 2020 - Tag

Wow!  It's Friday already!

It's also January 3rd!

That means a new monthly challenge begins at CAS Christmas Card Challenge!

Christine is our hostess this month and she chose the theme Tag.
Remember, this is a CARD only challenge so your tag MUST be on a card.

My first Christmas card for 2020!  I used patterned paper for my background.  Then, cut a tag using      tag die.  The sentiment die is by Tim Holtz.  I cut it from raspberry
cardstock.  The "snowy" branch die is also Tim Holtz cut twice and glued behind the tag.  I finished it off with a bit of ribbon.

Stop by the CAS Christmas blog and see the rest of the Team's cards with tags.  Then come play along with us and start your stash for Christmas 2020!  Only 51 weeks to go. LOL

Krafty Chicks Challenge #488 - Stamp Act

Happy New Year!

A new year and a new decade, so exciting!

That's not all that's new either.  Krafty Chicks Challenge has revamped itself for the new year.  We have revamped the challenge a bit.  We will have a specific challenge each week and then our 5th Thursday will be the Crazy Egg/Anything Goes Challenge.  Here is what each month will look like:

Week 1

Stamp Act (must have a stamped image on the card/project)
Week 2
Christmas (must have something with Christmas on the card/project)

Week 3
CAS (Clean and Simple)
Week 4
All Occasions (Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Birthday, Valentine's etc.)
Week 5
When there are five Thursday's in the month,
Anything Goes/Crazy Egg Challenge

So since today is the first week in January, the challenge is Stamp Act:

I used The World Awaits, Milestone Birthday Numbers, and Young At Heart stamp sets by Catherine Pooler to create my New Year's card using Sangria, Sugared Lavender and Eucalyptus inks by Catherine Pooler.  I used a postal stamp die(Catherine Pooler Designs) to die cut the gold foil.

Please stop by the Hen House and check out what the rest of the Team has created for Stamp Act.  Also welcome our new Guest Designer, Jill Duplessie for the month of January.  Remember, you don't have to play with the twist, even though we love it when you do, you can play in our always Anything Goes challenge.

Krafty Chicks Blessings!
