Our Superhero

Good Evening!

I have a short post tonight.  I almost forgot to share this for the Inspiration Challenge at Altenew for June.  I'm down to the wire! I made this for my Hubs for Father's Day.  Actually, it's a late Father's Day card. It's been a very busy June. He knows.  He still enjoyed it even being late.

I used Altenew's Healthcare Heroes stamp set, stamped and masked the hero nurse then fussy cut him to pop him up over the background I ink blended then stenciled with the Altenew Aztec Motif stencil.  I also stamped the heart beat stamp across the bottom in Icing on the Cake.  Lastly I added some heart dies cut from some ink blended cardstock.

Summer Veggin'

 Good Morning, Sunday!

I finally am getting to spend more time in my craft room.  It seems like my cats spend more time in there these days than I do!  I'm just thankful they don't try and get all inky unchaperoned.  LOL.  I have a non DT card to share this morning.  I'm playing in the Global Design Color Challenge today before it closes.

I decided to go veggie for my card.  I'm using the Veggies Please stamp set by Catherine Pooler Designs, stamped in Green Tea, Sweet Sixteen and Royal Treatment inks also by Catherine Pooler.  In fact, everything on my card, stamps, dies, ink are all Catherine Pooler Designs.

The inner panel is a stencil I made from a Trellis Cover plate by CPD inked in Sweet Sixtenn.  The scallop die is inked in Royal Treatment.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will return again.

KCC#565 - All Occasions

Hey there!  Welcome to my crafty space!

It's Krafty Chicks Thursday so time for a new challenge in the Hen House!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #565 - All Occasions

It's our All Occasions week, which means birthday, sympathy, thank you, anniversary, whatever holiday you are celebrating soon, etc.  Last Sunday was Father's Day and so I'm sharing the card I made for my Dave's dad.  I recently purchased the apron die, BBQ and gardening die accessories from Honey Bee Stamps and so I spent one afternoon cutting lots and lots (AND LOTS) of bbq and gardening tools and aprons out of various different patterned paper.  Now I have many to create some quick cards later.

Please stop by the KCC blog and check out the rest of my fellow teammates' projects for this week. Then come play along!

KCC #564 CAS

Good Morning!

It's Thursday all ready!  WOW!

Well that means, Krafty Chicks Thursday.

This week our challenge is CAS (Clean & Simple)

My CAS card started with my colorful background from my stash.  It's one I created by adding alcohol inks to glitter cardstock. I cut the sentiment out of it and then trimmed a panel to fit behind the die cut panel. I thought the swirly emboss folder made a nice touch to tie it all together.

Check out my fellow Chicks' CAS projects over on the challenge blog and come play along with us.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #563 - Christmas

Good Evening!  TGIF!  I'm late posting for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge, which I'm hosting.  Have been out of town this week for our 31st anniversary and didn't get a chance to photograph my card before I left.  I thought I packed it so I could photograph it on my trip, but things were packed and repacked and it ultimately got left behind.

Anyway our challenge this week is Christmas ---

Stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the team's projects and then come play with us and add to your Christmas stash.  Just six months away ya'll!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #562 - Stamp Act

Good Morning!

Wow, this week blew by really even quicker with a holiday!  We enjoyed more time out and about this past weekend than we have in the past 15 months.  Spent most of it outside but Dave and I did venture into a couple stores and even dined INSIDE once!  <gasp>. We went kind of early since we had been shopping and there weren't many inside, so we opted for the cool indoors. Dave still has a hard time venturing out and with due cause as they still are getting Covid patients in the ER every week.  Not big numbers but he and his colleagues know this will be a norm now for hospitals. And since he was vaccinated back in December, he's coming up on the halfway point til a booster. So I've chosen to also wear a mask inside wherever we go still.  Well, enough of that, let's get to today's post!

It's the first Thursday of the month, June. JUNE! WOW! Year is half done!  <gasp again>!  Being the first Thursday, it's Krafty Chicks' Stamp Act challenge with Leanne hosting.  You must use stamping on your card this week.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #562 - Stamp Act

I went for a bit of a tropical vibe for my card today.  I used the Pineapple Accents and Lovely Greetings by Catherine Pooler Designs and stamped in Catherine Pooler Inks.  My blue background strip is a piece of alcohol inked glossy cardstock paper I've had in my homemade background stash for a while.  It was perfect for this card.  I also used some gold mirrored cardstock and gold polk dot patterned acetate paper for a little more gold pop with those gold tops.  I stamped the sentiment in the same color as the dark pineapple (Daydream) on the background paper very carefully.  I used my Misti to get a good stamping first try since the glossy paper is slick.  While the ink was still wet, I sprinkled clear embossing powder on the sentiment and heat set it.  Again, I did this very carefully and in short spurts after heating up my heat tool initially.  The finishing touch was small pearls on the flowers.

So please check out my fellow Chicks - - - Leanne, Lori and Diane's projects.  Also be sure and give a warm welcome to our June Guest Designer, Carol Gill!  Welcome, Carol!
