Hope - Word Week at Just Us Girls

Good Morning!

It's my 2nd week Guesting with Just Us Girls!

When I saw the word for this week, I had two different ideas and this was the first one.

I used alpha dies  to stamp most of my "hope" word and a sand dollar. I took some vellum trimmed to the size I wanted and ink blended on the backside of it. Next, I took the coordinating embossing folder with the Seaside Wishes set from Stampin Up and using a craft hammer, "embossed" various areas of my sand part of my vellum.  I actually did that part on the front side of the vellum for the raised effect. Then, I die cut the word from the vellum and white cardstock that I had prepped with Stick It on one side.  The white cardstock I had adhered to some double sided stick it paper so all my vellum layers would adhere nicely to the white cardstock underneath.  The back kraft layer was embossed with a 3D wave folder from Sizzix.  And the coral is an oldie from Poppy Stamps maybe?

I do have to say this is one of my favorite cards I've made this year.  I love how it turned out!

Nance, Your techniques paid off in a gorgeous card! The colors alone are fabulous, then all that texture just puts it over the top! What a great "hope" card for this week's challenge!

Your card is absolutely gorgeous and I see why it is one of your favorites. I just love it. Love that you used the old "hammer" technique. Always makes me think of Michele F and her father's hammer. Thank you for this most wonderful contribution to our challenges. It is a joy having you Guest Design with us.

This is so amazing! I love what you did with the vellum, ink blending and embossing with the hammer. That sand dollar looks so realistic. I just might have to attempt a CASE of this beauty.

Spectacular card, Nance. I love sand dollars (hang some on my Christmas tree) and using one for the O in HOPE was brilliant. You made a great background to give us the feel of the beach.
