CAS Christmas - Santa

Happy Saturday!

Hope you're having a "cool" November weekend!

It's a new month
and so
it's time for a new challenge
at
CAS Christmas!

Christine is our hostess this month.

She chose this month's theme to be
Santa!

Can you believe it's just about seven weeks until Christmas?????

Where did the time go?
I swear I'm still back in August!  LOL

Anyhoo, it IS November.

So, apparently, I'm even more sparse on Santa stamps than I am on snowmen.  Whaaaat?  How does someone have NO Santa stamps for CHRISTMAS cards?  I'm still pondering that.

I did find an old stamp set that had the word SANTA in it so I used it with a Santa hat and belt.

Actually, I have some Santa stamped I stamped from a set of Bonnie's that I misplaced and just found a two days after I made this card.

First on my agenda after Christmas, is re-organizing my craft room more.  I even found Christmas cards from one of Bonnie's card classes LAST fall that I didn't finish. <eye roll>

So look for those Santas later in the month! <wink wink>.  Like I said the stamp here is very old.  I don't even remember the company.  I started by swiping CP Samba ink on some white cardstock for the background and made sure it was dry.  Then, I stamped the sentiment in CP Midnight black and then again with Versamark. Then, I embossed it with clear emboss powder.  I repeated the Versamark and emboss powder a second time.  I was going for a patent leather look.

The hat is a stamp from Catherine Pooler set, Christmas Charms.  I stamped it on watercolor paper and then colored it using CP re-inkers and water brush.  Then added a layer of glitter and other shimmer.

Be sure and stop by the CAS Christmas Card blog and check out the rest of the Team's beautiful CAS Santa cards!  Come play along with us, you have until November 24th!  Remember to keep it CAS!

Great work thinking outside the box Nance! What a great Santa card without a Santa! So creative and clever! I had to go and buy some new Stamps because I didn't have any Santas either. It was a sacrifice I was willing to make. :) I have been on a Christmas card team for a long time and still have very few snowmen as well. :) More shopping is in order! xx

How creative you are to make this Santa-theme card without a Santa stamp, Nance! "Invention is the mother of necessity"? ;-)
Love the way you used the window die and the patent-leather-look belt and sentiment.

I agree with you - it’s impossible that it is already November! Love your take on the Santa challenge - a terrific card with just his hat and belt, and great use of the peek-a-boo die. You’re not the only one who has to do more craft room organizing - I too found some unfinished cards from over a year ago. I think I’ll just lock myself in there in January and get the organizing done,

Clever and fun take on the challenge especially when you don’t have a Santa stamp. Great CAS design. xx
