Freshly Made Goosebumps

Good Evening!

It's almost Monday Morning.  Posting late as it's been a busy weekend and we are now on a beach vacation.

I created this card for the Freshly Made Sketch this past week.  I had the background in my UFO backgrounds so it was easy to pull together cutting those super creepy hands from Impression Obsession.  I cut several and bumped them up and then painted white nails.  I finished it with a creepy sentiment by Whimsy Stamps, bumped up also, inked in Tiara ink and added a couple bat dies.

For Following Challenges:

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Background Stamp (Hero Arts).
Paper: Neenah 110# Solar White; Midnight cardstock (Catherine Pooler).
Ink: Tiara, Orange Twist, Flame, Glam, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Inks).
Extras: Zombie Edger (Impression Obsession); Sentiment (Whimsy Stamps); Bat dies (Spellbiners).

Just A Note

Good Afternoon!

Hope if you've been in the path of Helene that you're safe, dry and sound.  I did see the news recently that at least 1 Million people are without power presently in SC and NC.  So, please be safe.  Here in central NC, the rains have gone and the sun is out slightly.  Luckily we just had some torrential downpours and some gusty winds.  Nothing any worse than a couple weeks ago. Presently, my inlaws are sitting in western SC without power but safe and sound. So prayers to all for safety as Helene ventures farther north and then east.

I did use the sloppy day to do a little crafting and here is a clean and simple one - - -

I've had this pooh bear image colored for a bit and it seemed perfect for the Addicted To CAS challenge.  I kept it very CAS with just the sentiment and a notebook border die punch on top.  I almost forgot I had that die as it's very old.

For Following Challenges:

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Pooh Bear stamp (Unity Stamps).
Paper: Neenah 110# Solar White
Ink: Copics - Y13, Y15, Y17, E13, E23. E25, BG05.
Extras: Notebook border die (EK by AmericanCrafts).

I'm so glad you visited. Have a creative day! Be safe!

Boo Mummy - Just Us Girls ATG Stencil Week

Good Morning!

Today is my last Guest post with Just Us Girls Challenge for the month.  Can you believe September is almost over?  Still doesn't feel much like fall here, but I'm ready for it now. It still feels like hot, humid August not a week before October.  I do have to admit, October is one of my favorite months -- it's cooler, leaves change, it's my birthday month, and Halloween!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  I loved helping my kids create their costumes and taking them trick-or-treating.  Now I love seeing everyone else's kids dress up. I'm also a big spooky, scary, creepy movie fan too.

And that is a nice lead in for my card this week, which is on the spooky side.  This week's challenge is the Anything Goes Stencil week at Just Us Girls.  I found a cool mummy stencil a few weeks back and it came in just in time for me to play with it for this challenge.

I inked up the stencil first using the colors Serene (a light purple), Pebble and Black Jack (for the eyes).  Then I Versamarked the eyes and added glow in the dark emboss powder.  See my photo below to see them "glow in the dark".  I was going to leave it like that and just add the spiders, web and sentiment.  However, I spied my sugar paste by Bo Bunny and decided to give my mummy a little more shimmer!   It got a little rough around some edges when I peeled off the stencil, but I decided that added to the grungy creepiness a bit more and didn't sweat it.  There are two more photos below where I tried to show the shimmer more. I cut several spiders so they would be bumped up.  My web I cut in black cardstock and vellum and glued the vellum on top of the black not caring much if the glue showed through in spots, again for more creepiness.

The dark background doesn't help brighten the card up as much as I had hoped, but it also lends to the grungy, creepy, kind of old feel too.

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Sentiment - (Memory Box).
Paper: Neenah 110# Solar White;
Ink: Serene, Grape Crush, Pebble, Black Jack (CP Ink).
Extras: Mummy Stencil (A Colorful Life Designs); Spider die (Trinity Stamps); Web die (Studio Katia); Sugar Glitter Paste (BoBunny); Glow in the Dark emboss powder (Wow).

Freshly Made Merry & Bright

 Good Morning!

It's Monday and my week just got a lot busier, but hopefully in a good way!  The hubs took my cards to work this weekend and sold around 40 of them.  One person bought all the Christmas cards I had so far, which weren't many but she cleaned me out!  LOL  And now several more of his colleagues are  requesting Christmas cards.  So again, a good problem to have except now I have to get down to creating!

So it's a good thing that yesterday evening I decided to make a card for the Freshly Made Sketches and made it a Christmas card.

I used these fun new nutcracker stamps by Catherine Pooler Designs for the main focal point of my card.  These are part of her Christmas Release from earlier this month. I tried to keep the rest of the card pretty simple to showcase these fun guys.  I had at first thought I'd add some patterned paper but in the end I liked the pink panel better.  So I just die cut it with the same die cut as my background.  After embossing the sentiment I decided it needed a little something extra and so I added a little bling on their hats and on the pink panel.

For Following Challenges:

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Nutcrackers and sentiment - Nutcracker Sweet set (Catherine Pooler).
Paper: Neenah 110# Solar White
Ink: Be Mine(CP Ink); Versamark; Copics.
Extras: Coverplate die - Christmas Glory (Catherine Pooler Designs); White embossing powder (WOW).

Flowers for Just Us Girls

Good Morning!

It's almost the weekend.

It's my 3rd week of Guesting at Just Us Girls! I'm having so much fun creating for these challenges this month!

This week is a mood board for your inspiration and it's very fun!

More birthday flowers here because who doesn't enjoy a flowers, even fake ones on a card for their birthday? I pulled out several floral background stamps and stencils before I decided upon dies once again.  These are new to me dies by Birchpress Designs. I had a lot of fun  cutting all of these flowers and putting them together. I cut them from my own custom cardstock by ink swiping my inkpads on white cardstock.  My vase is a small stitched frame die.

Be sure and check out all the Design Team inspiration over at the JUGS blog.  And why not come and play with this gorgeous inspiration photo of all that rainbow array of beautiful flowers!

For Following  Challenges:

Card Supplies:

Birthday Sunflowers

Hello!

I have another evening post.  Spent the afternoon in my craft room.  It pretty much took me all that time for this card as you will see why...

I wanted to play in the Double D Challenge, which was an inspiration photo of sunflowers. I have several different stamps/dies/stencils of sunflowers and what did I do?  I chose a very old flower die from Papertrey Ink and spent the time cutting out multiples of each flower and ink blending the top layers.  Had I been of sounder mind (I was also listening to a horror audiobook, so I was distracted, hahaha), I would have cut one layer from an adhesive sheet.  Oh well. Still, I had a lot of fun putting the flowers together while listening to my book.  I already had the blended background, which made things easier. Finally, I added the inked and die cut sentiment and used a white gel pen to make the seeds in the middle of my sunflowers.

For Following Challenges:

Weekly I.D.E.A.S. is from Darnell.  It is not exactly a challenge, just an inspirational jumping off point for each week.

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Sentiment - Perfect Sentiments (Pinkfresh Studio).
Paper: Neenah 110# Solar White.
Ink: Samba, Catching Rays, Tiki Torch, Orange Twist, In The Park, Mardis Gras, Icing on the Cake (CP Ink).
Extras: Flower dies (Papertrey Ink - probably retired); Sentiment coordinating die (Pinkfresh Studio); white gel pen.

Merry Days with Friends

 Good Morning
and
Happy Friday!

I have a special little post this morning.  A couple weeks ago, Bonnie and I got to meet another mutual crafty friend, Michele Ferguson (I Card Everyone) when she and her hubby drove down from Michigan to Cary!

Bonnie was a doll to let me crash their crafty day and spend a couple hours having lunch, visiting and crafting with them. Michele generously shared some of her new stamps/dies with us (so did Bonnie).  So, today, we are sharing our cards made with one of Michele's purchases, Merry Days, by Penny Black.

Michele, Bonnie & I

I have to admit I'm a little nervous sharing alongside them as they both are so creative and talented.  At any rate, here is mine...

I was out of town for several days earlier this week, so I kept mine pretty CAS as I had to wait until I got home to color my image.   I used Copic colors to match my background stripes. I rooted around in my stash of foiled Christmas sentiments to find the perfect one to add a little pizzazz to that adorable bear couple.  I also shimmered up the star and the fur on the bears' hats for some holiday bling. The lovely frame was either Bonnie's or Michele's and I loved it so much I came home and ordered it!

Now go stop by Michele and Bonnie's blogs to see what they created with those merry little bears!

For Following Challenges:

NBUS #66

Hope - Word Week at Just Us Girls

Good Morning!

It's my 2nd week Guesting with Just Us Girls!

When I saw the word for this week, I had two different ideas and this was the first one.

I used alpha dies  to stamp most of my "hope" word and a sand dollar. I took some vellum trimmed to the size I wanted and ink blended on the backside of it. Next, I took the coordinating embossing folder with the Seaside Wishes set from Stampin Up and using a craft hammer, "embossed" various areas of my sand part of my vellum.  I actually did that part on the front side of the vellum for the raised effect. Then, I die cut the word from the vellum and white cardstock that I had prepped with Stick It on one side.  The white cardstock I had adhered to some double sided stick it paper so all my vellum layers would adhere nicely to the white cardstock underneath.  The back kraft layer was embossed with a 3D wave folder from Sizzix.  And the coral is an oldie from Poppy Stamps maybe?

I do have to say this is one of my favorite cards I've made this year.  I love how it turned out!

For Following Other Challenges:

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Sand dollar stamp - Seaside Wishes (Stampin' Up); Sentiment (Penny Black).
Paper: Neenah 110# Solar White; Kraft (Lawn Fawn); Vellum.
Ink: Oh Boy, Something Blue, Buttercream, Sandcastle (CP Ink);
Extras: Letter dies - W Plus9; Sand dollar die (Stampin' UP); Coral die - Stash; Wave Emboss Folder (Sizzix).

You're One In A Minion

Happy Sunday!
And
Happy Birthday to my hubs, Dave!  It's his last year in the 50s.

He celebrated early last week with our kids and today (his actual birthday) he gets to celebrate in Myrtle Beach while we are visiting my mom.  Also, along with loving Pooh Bear, he's even more a fanatic about the Minions, particularly Dave the Minion (I wonder why). So, you know what kind of birthday card I made for him...

I very accidentally stumbled upon (that's my story I'm sticking to 😉) some really cute minion stamps a few weeks ago and of course, I had to order some just for my hubs. It's a new to me company, Crackerbox Stamps.  They have several different movie character stamps besides the Minions.  I colored him with Copics and fussy cut him then popped him up on the top of the background. The background stamp I've had for several months and finally used it.

For Following Challenges:

I chose the middle column: Birthday, Rectangle, Die  Cuts

My NBUS - Minion stamp and background stamp

Card Supplies:

Stamps: Minion (Crackerbox Stamps); Background -Celebrate (Honey Bee Stamps).
Paper: Neenah 110# Solar White.
Ink: Oh Boy, Suede Shoes, Dress Blues(CP Ink); Versamark; Copics.
Extras: Frame dies (My Favorite Things); Banner die (Catherine Pooler Designs).
