Good Morning!
Today is a special day.
It's the #SpreadJoyNotGerms Blog Hop!
This is the creation of Catherine Pooler of Catherine Pooler Designs and Alexandra Stapleton-Smith of Hedgehog Hollow to spread some joy during this very challenging time we are all experiencing. I'm so thrilled that Catherine invited me to be a part of it!
The purpose of the blog hop is to share happy cards to spread some smiles and give inspiration to others to send their hand made cards at this time.
This is an amazing blog hop with 31 sponsors offering more than 50 prizes and over 150 bloggers participating in this hop! The complete list can be found on Catherine's and Alexandra's blogs.
That is a lot of blogs to hop but, the more you comment, the better chance to win! The prizes will be randomly drawn from all the blogs and all the comments. Some companies are offering discounts and freebies as well!
When Catherine invited me to join the hop I had been working on some cards to give to my husband's coworkers so I am sharing them on this hop. My husband, Dave, is an ER nurse at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Many of his coworkers usually buy my cards throughout the year. Yet, now I thought they need the cards themselves and I needed to let them know they're appreciated for all the hard work and sacrifices they make all the time but especially right now. So, I'm purging much of my stash to make sure every one of the staff gets a card. There just happens to be about 265 ER staff! More than my stash. So I asked Bonnie Klass, as well as Catherine, for any extra cards they had in their stash to add to mine. I also received a small box full from a fellow Stamp Nation member, Jill Duplessie. I am so thrilled for Dave to be able to walk into the ER with arm loads of cards for everyone!
Now here are my cards for today---
The above card was made with a cardbase of Sand Dunes with a small layer of striped patterned paper from CP Designs Fresh & Fruity. I also used the Sending Hugs die by Trinity Stamps and cut it from the same striped pattern paper as well as two white cardstock ones to bump it up. I did this on several of the cards. I colored in the leaves and hearts of the sentiment with Catherine Pooler Inks - Mardi Gras, Tiki Torch, Be Mine and Samba.
Above, I started with a white cardbase of Neenah with patterned paper from CP Designs Fresh & Fruity. The rainbow patterned piece from the Totally Rad pack was cut with the Skyscape mini cover plate. I used CP Inks Lime Rickey, Be Mine and Fiesta Blue for the sentiment.
The third one I used the CP Designs Throwing Confetti Cover Plate atop midnight cardstock base. I added a Midnight CP Designs Postage stamp die under the sentiment rectangle. I used the Sending Hugs die again on this card with the striped pattern paper from Fresh & Fruity. I colored the sentiment with Lime Rickey and Be Mine.
This rainbow background I sponged a while back with CP Inks and it was just waiting for the perfect card. I cut the HUG(Trinity Stamps) from the center of the panel where it would be hidden by the sentiment panel. I cut two white HUGs also to bump it up. CP inks used: Tiki Torch, Orange Twist, Flirty Fucshia and Grape Crush. I cut the Skyscape die from Midnight cardstock to layer under the sentiment layer.
Next I decided to make my own stenciled background using the CP Designs Bear Grass Stencil. I tilted it and brushed on Mardi Gras, Lime Rickey, Tiki Torch, Be Mine and Samba. I used a white CP Designs Postage stamp die for the middle layer and I used another striped cut Hug bumped up with white layers.
For the final card, I used more of the striped pattern paper from Fresh & Fruity for my background and the "hug". I made Midnight borders around both layers.
If you get lost on the way, you can always head back to Catherine Pooler Designs or Hedgehog Hollow for the full hop list.
The Deadline to enter is April 24 for prizes.
