CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Poinsettia

Hello!

Happy Tuesday!

So it's JULY now!  WOW!

How about some "coolness"
with some
Christmas in July ---

A new monthly challenge begins today
over at

Loll is our hostess this month
and
the theme is
Poinsettia!

Ok once again, I'm a little limited on my poinsettias. I don't know how since I have a fairly big box full of Christmas stamps.   Anyway, I think I have one stencil, one stand alone die and one stamp/die set for poinsettia.  Maybe I should take inventory to see just what all I really have in the box. Hmmm. I hadn't used the stencil yet, so I decided to go with it. I received it as a birthday gift from Bonnie Klass (my birthday is in Oct., so you know how NBUS goes sometimes).  So I thought I'd use it with some small sponge daubers and inked it up.  I kept the rest simple by just adding some gold borders and a sentiment die cut from the same gold.

Now stop by the CAS Christmas Blog and check out the rest of the team's beautiful poinsettia cards!  All so gorgeous!  Then ink up, sponge, watercolor, color, whatever a poinsettia and play along with us!  You have all month until July 24th so you can play several times with new projects.  And just make sure they are CAS (clean and simple).

Card Supplies:
PAPER: White cardbase (Neenah 110 lb Solar); Watercolor paper (Strathmore); Gold foil cardstock; White craft foam (Michaels).
INK: Rose Petal, Peppermint Scrub, Eucalyptus (Catherine Pooler Inks).
EXTRAS: Poinsettia stencils (Tim Holtz); Peace word die (Essentials by Ellen); Stitched border (Pretty Pink Posh).
CAS Christmas Blessings!

Beautiful stenciling, Nance! The shading and the colors of your poinsettias are so pretty! The gold die-cut sentiment and the borders are the perfect touch to add a festive feeling. Hideko xx
p.s. We used the same stencil and made very different cards. I'm secretly proud of ourselves. :-)

I have only two poinsettia stamps myself, so you got me beat! Your stencilling is gorgeous, Nance. I’m amazed you got such beautiful blending results using a sponge dauber. Mine always look so blotchy. The gold is a great complement! Beautiful card! xx
