Happy Monday!
I'm having a late blog start to my day and week! Lots going on and to do!
So, without further delay ---
It's time for another
with Ella and her Team!
This week we bring you an inspiration photo to spark your creativity:
Such a gorgeous photo of
summer flowers and summer fair fun!
I see tickets and a small box of popcorn there!
Take whatever inspires you from the photo,
create a paper project,
and link it up over at
Don't forget to check out my fellow design team's fabulous projects they've made for some added inspiration!
Below is my card:
SPIES:
STAMP: Jar, fireflys (Recollections); Ticket (Tim Holtz); Daisies (Taylored Expressions); Sentiment (Simon Says).
PAPER: White card base; DP - Summer Bliss by Lori Whitlock (EchoPark).
INK: Jet black (Staz On); Tuxedo Black, Dandelion, Bamboo leaves, Rose (Memento); Raspberry (Hampton Art); Turquoise (SEI); Yellow marker on fireflies (Copics).
EXTRAS: Daisy die (Taylored Expressions).
I made this card fairly simple so the fireflies and flowers were the main event. Plus, I was running really late for my deadline to get it in for posting! Just one of those days with it being not only Sunday, but Father's Day also.
It took me a bit to come up with a layout for this card. I think because I have been in masculine/Father's Day mode for the past couple weeks, I had a time transitioning back to feminine pretty. lol Yet, after a bit, it took on a mind of it's own and now looking at it I can see the ole subconscious playing a role in my creation. I had pulled out a stamp set, I've had for several months, but hadn't used yet. The firefly stamps sit in the jar stamp in the set so as I gravitated towards the jar, the fireflies came too. I mention my subconscious because my youngest son is currently in Dover, Delaware helping to set up for the Firefly Music Festival, which starts this Thursday. So, my card is a little shout out to my son, Ben, and his summer adventure! He and two friends drove up on Friday to volunteer pre-festival. For their 5-6 days of sweat and hard work, they will get to attend the festival for free! A great deal since the tickets start at around $350+ to attend all four days. So they are living in a tent, using portable showers/toilets and eating who knows what. Thankfully, the festival supplies them with all they want free drinking water. He's having a blast! Why couldn't they create these festivals when I was in college?
Anyway, I digress. I don't think I have to explain what I did too much. I did stamp the fireflies right on the vellum jar and colored them. Then, stamped another one and fussy cut it to fly out of the jar. I cut a slit in the jar top to place the flower too.
