Hello Tag

Wow!  Is it still Monday?
Time flies...I'm a card making, tag making fool lately!  LOL
One of my hubs colleagues asked me to make her some all occasion tags ----
I decided to use the Stamplorations stamp set, Frames & Flowers. It's so dainty and pretty and perfect for tags.
I actually used neon pink ink for the flowers so the color wouldn't absorb so much in the kraft cardstock. The other colors I used were Tempting Turquoise, white and Versafine black.  The tag die is from Popppy Stamps.  I actually cut both white and kraft tags and glued the kraft to the white for a white backing and more stability.

Tis The Season...

Another fun watercolor card.  I used the galaxy sky technique with watercolors --- dark blue, dark purple and dark grey with a touch of yellow.  The tree die is Memory Box.  The stamp is from Michaels, a little sale item---one of a set of borders. The sentiment is Ellen Hutson.  You can't see it but I added white Wink of Stella to the sky and along the edge of the base card.

Shaker of Joy

Been busy, busy, busy working on Christmas cards, shopping, cleaning, etc.  I'm glad there's still about nine days left before I have to panic!  LOL

Again, I almost forgot to post this card for this past week's Muse Challenge.  I think I need to start setting my alarm for reminders.  I just make one card, then go on to the next and sometimes they just stack up!

It's been a while since I made a shaker card and I had some new Christmas shaped sequins so I made my rendition of the Muse a shaker. I used a Heidi Swapp stencil and Heidi Swapp Art Screen Ink (it's like the molding paste) for the background.  It actually came out looking a little silvery.  The shaker contents are tree sequins, clumpy glittery, a little green and raspberry glitter and iridescent sequins.  Usually I make my shaker to fit inside the background as well, but this time I wanted it to be more defined on top as an ornament.  The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson and stamped in Pink Pirouette.  I finished it off with a silver bow.

Sweet Holidays

Happy Sunday!

12 Days til Christmas!

Just putting that out there!  LOL

Yes, I'm still working on cards.

I put together a little die cut bouquet of candy canes making a vase out of an ornament die...

I embossed the ornament and then cut off the bottom.
Sweet and simple!

I made this with Merry Monday in mind --

Reason To Believe

Well it started out as a dreary cloudy day and now the sun is beginning to shine!  I love when I have lots of sunshine pouring into my craft room while I'm creating!  I'm working hard today too!  And oh what sound is that I hear?....well it's the leaf sucker truck (don't know what else to call it ) sucking up all of our leaves at the end of the yard.  If you live in NC, you know it's not fall until the leaf truck rolls around!  lol

But I digress, back to more important details!  My card!

This is one of my favorite Christmas stamp sets (Stampendous).  I think it is just so elegant.  I added the heart glitter enamel dot to the star.

I got my inspiration from the sketch at Freshly Made and the colors at Color Throwdown.

I got some added inspiration for the colors from the Fusion challenge this week.  I love this color combo.  It was actually the colors for my wedding 25 years ago!  ;)

Noel Tree

Happy Sunday!

Working on Christmas cards still.  My hubs sold almost all of the Christmas cards I had to date so I'm trying to get my stock built back up and also trying to finish decorating the house for Christmas.  Nothing like multi-tasking!  Was suppose to accompany my hubs and son to the Tarheel basketball game tonight, but I bowed out.  I hate missing the games, but I can't do everything.  Anyway, I gave my ticket to my son's friend who is visiting, so all is not lost.  I'll make it next week!

So getting a card entered into Merry Monday again.  Two weeks in a row!  Woohoo!  lol

I was also going to put this card into The Shabby Tea Room, but just didn't get it posted in time.  Oh well.  I splattered watercolor paint, brown, pink and light green, onto the background.  Then, I cut the tree from patterned paper, American Crafts Base Coat.  The birds are from Paper Sweeties, colored with Spectrum Noirs.  The chat bubble I got from Michaels $1 bin.  There's always some nice little find there.

Tis The Season!

Good Evening!
Here's probably my last post for November 2015---
I've been busy crafting and cyber shopping today and didn't get this card posted in time for one of the challenges (Colour Me) I made it for.  Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes. But the other two are still going on so that's good.

I used the colors from Colour Me -- Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry, Rose Red and Melon Mambo from Stampin' Up. All of my stamps are from Stamplorations. The sentiment is from "Holiday Sketches - Christmas Bells".  The tree was fashioned from two sets - "Celebrate Artsy" (the trunk) and "Mixed Media Elements" (tree layers).

Merry Poinsettia

Hello again!  I've got several more posts to make today, starting with this one.  I so love this  card!  I made it in mind for The Card Concept as a "clean and graphic" card and using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Well, I forgot all about giving out the deets of my card!  So here they are:

The Poinsettia die is from Spellbinders.  The gold berry branches are from Poppy Stamps.  The sentiment is an old wood stamp from Recollections.  I stamped it on vellum with Versamark and then gold embossed it.  The background paper is from Michaels brand, Recollections.

Here's my card --

I started out using a background panel I had made with Brusho Crystal Colors.  The original background was purple, pink and yellow.  Then, I did the Bokeh technique on it using white pigment ink.  The Bokeh effect made the background completely different from its original state.  I wish I had thought to photograph the original before I started.  Next time. ;)

Confession: I haven't done a Bokeh background in a while so it took me two tries to get it right! Actually, the first time was on another Brusho background of red, pink and yellow and the Bokeh came out really well, but....after I stamped my sentiment, I thought it was dry (even took the dryer to it) and wanted to stamp a white circle partly on the sentiment to soften it down and it smeared big time!  UGH!  So I wound up cutting that one down and starting over with this one.  So this is try #2.  This time, I didn't have to restamp any white to get the partly transparent look of the sentiment.

I cut the dove die out of shiny silver textured cardstock.  For the life of me I cannot remember where I got the die.  I thought it was Poppy Stamps, but I'm not sure.

Polar Christmas

Happy Sunday!

Ok, that's a little strange for me to be saying.  Usually, I'm busy crafting and have no time to do postings!  I wanted to get this card in with Merry Monday.  So I can finally say I've played Merry Monday!  YAY!

My background was done with Brushos.  A couple weeks ago, I went over to Bonnie Klass' house (she's a fellow Cary-ite) and go to play around with her Brushos.  Now they're on my Christmas list!  They are sooooo cool and fun!  It's amazing to watch the color just burst when you sprinkle the powder onto water soaked watercolor paper or to sprinkle it on watercolor paper and then squirt water onto it.  She also showed me a technique using spray starch instead of water.  Makes the colors a little more vibrant.  I came home with a nice stack of backgrounds to use like I did here or to use with die cuts, which I will do shortly.  The colors I used for this background were all blues, if you can believe it.  When it mixed with the starch, flecks of purple and black appeared.

The stamps I used are from Mama Elephant Memory Box, "Gnome for Christmas." I used a bit of Snow glitter on the tree and hill and diamond Stickles on the sky to make it glimmer a bit.  Yeah, I'm a little "old school" in that I only have one Wink of Stella pen and it's gold.  So, I stick with my Stickles for now.  I used a Heidi Swapp stencil to make the snowfall.

Christmas Blessings!
