4CC #357 - Crazy Egg/Anything Goes - {Nance}

Happy Thursday!

Wow, June is just about over!

It's time today for a new challenge
at
4 Crafty Chicks!

June has 5 Thursdays so you know what that means at the Hen House ---

4CC #357 Crazy Egg/Anything Goes!

For my card I am sharing a graduation card I made for my oldest son, who received his Master of Arts in History and his graduate hood in May at the University of Central Oklahoma.

We are so proud of him and his wife, who received her Bachelors degree in History the same weekend.

I made a card to represent his robe and tassel colors. My card uses stamps from Lil Inker Designs, Grad Class Stamps.  I used LID's wonky stitched squares for the grad cap.  Spellbinders triangles were used to cut the necklines of the "robe" and a striped embossed folder finished off the look, along with green embroidery yarn for the tassel, attached with a brad.

I made the cap to open for an extra front message and then completed the inside:

The inside sentiment is from G Stamps and the tassel stamp is DRS Designs.  The "Congrats" word die is a Catherine Pooler word die.

Stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the ladies' projects, including our Guest Designer, Alicia.  This is her last week with us so make sure and give her some good blog love!

The Challenge #88

Hello again!

There's another awesome challenge starting today
at
The Challenge!

This one is a Recipe:

Check out the Design Team's
fabulous watercolor florals this week:

My card ---
To make my watercolor look, I inked the flower stamp then spritzed with water before stamping on watercolor paper, then 2nd generation stamped before repeating the process.

I used stamps from the new Stamp of Approval set, Naturally Inspired.  The flowers are from Wild Garden and one sentiment is from Simply the Best.  The "Wishes" word die is a Spot On Word die from Catherine Pooler.  The label and cutout shape are the Framed Lattice Die.  Background pattern is from Sweet Girl (Echo Park). I also used Catherine Pooler inks - Party Dress and All That Jazz.

For Following Challenges:

4CC #356 Sunflowers {Lori}

Wow it's Thursday already!

This week has flown by.

Time for another challenge at

Lori is our hostess with the mostest and she wants to see SUNFLOWERS!

STAMPS: None.
PAPER: White cardbase. Yupo paper.
INK: Caramel, Butterscotch, Latte and Cranberry Alcohol inks (Tim Holtz); Black fine marker (Sharpie) and fine white paint marker (Sharpie).
EXTRAS: Stencil -Fall Floral Trio (Stamplorations);"Thanks" word die (Stamplorations).

I wanted to try my hand at alcohol inks again with Yupo paper and stencils.  I left the stencil on the paper until the inks completely dried and then pulled off the stencil.  I didn't like the result at first, but after letting it sit for a day, it grew on me.  Now I love how it turned out.  I added the "seeds" after putting the card together with the sentiment.

Check out my fellow Chicks' projects and leave them some blog love!

Paper Sweeties June 2017 New Release Rewind

TGIF!

I haven't been this thrilled it's Friday in a long time.  It's been a horrible, horrible week at the Salkeld abode with a very sick cat, which derailed quite a bit of other things.  I'm so glad the week is almost over and ending better than it began!

I also have been so behind on my crafting duties, but I think I'm almost caught up.  I plan to not only finish catching up but getting ahead this weekend <knocking on wood> barring no other pets or humans in the house get ridiculously ill.

But, that's not the only reason for a Happy Friday ---

It's Release Rewind Day
and
we are sharing our final projects
from the new Release.
Check out everyone's projects by hopping through the list below:

4CC #355 - Summer Fun {Tamie}

Good Morning, Again!

There's a new challenge up at

Tamie is our sunny hostess and she has chosen a theme ---

I don't know about the rest of you but I am in DESPERATE NEED of some summer fun!!!

It's been an awful week.  Our cat got horribly sick last weekend and we wound up taking him to the Vet ER.  He has slowly been improving but we still don't know exactly what is wrong with him.  We've been pumping him with meds and trying to get him to eat more.

So, I  haven't had a lot of sleep this week and for someone with chronic insomnia to begin with, it's not good.  So suffice to say, I'm a walking zombie and also late with some of my design team projects.

So late as it may be, here is my "summer fun" card ---

Stamps: Image and Sentiment - Mini Snorkel Fun Penguin (Your Next Stamp).
Paper:  White cardbase; Watercolor Paper; DP-Tasty Treats (Stampin' Up).
Ink: It's a boy (Catherine Pooler); Desert Sand (Memento); Black Onyx (Versafine).
Extras: Tag (Lil' Inker Designs); Sentiment Strip Die (My Favorite Things); Rectangle Stitched Die (Lil' Inker Designs).

I saw a Popsicle ad on The Weather Channel app that showed a kid "swimming" on a popsicle.  So that was my inspiration for my card.  I used a round stitched tag from Lil' Inker Designs for my popsicle and the inside of an MFT stitched sentiment die for the stick and cut them from watercolored paper.

Check out my fellow Chicks' projects over at the Hen House and leave them some blog love!

Paper Sweeties Planner Team:

Nancy Salkeld (You are HERE!)

I really can't believe it's June already!  2017 is flying by!

June is a special month for me because it's the month I married my best friend!  We celebrate our 27th Anniversary on June 9th.  Yes, it's been a roller coaster ride, but what life isn't?  We have two wonderful, handsome grown sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law, loving pets and grand-pets, loving and supportive extended family and awesome friends from all over the world!  The adventure is not over yet either!  We're hoping we have a good 40+ years left together and many more blessings and adventures to come!
Winter 1990
Look at those young kids (I really wasn't that young, but the Hubs was)! LOL That sweet little kitty (Buttons) was my college grad gift from the Hubs two years prior.  We were blessed to have her with us for 17 years.  She helped welcome both our sons and a couple dogs.  I'm really not sure which she disliked more, the dogs or the kids, but she loved me! LOL

Vacation time for us is this month too.  We've finally planned a nice vacation for two, our first long vacation, just the two of us, since our honeymoon to Hilton Head, SC 27 years ago. We are sooo long overdue and can't wait!

Our Monthly Inspiration Anything Goes Challenge is going through June 30th!
Come play along with us!

Come back tomorrow for our PS Sneak Peek Day!  New Paper Sweeties Stamps/Dies to see!
