4CC #335 Watercolor

Good Morning Crafty Chickies!

It's Thursday!

You know what that means ---

a new challenge at

Lori is our hostess today
and her theme is ---

This is one of my very favorite mediums and techniques I like to use on my cards.  It's so forgiving and no two creations are ever the same.
STAMPS: Sentiment - Sending Happy Thoughts (Simon Says)
PAPER: Water color paper; Raspberry cardstock; white cardstock.
INK: Black Onyx (Versafine); Picked Raspberry & Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink (Tim Holtz).
EXTRAS: Poststamp die (Simon Says); Heart swoosh die (Poppy Stamps); Small heart/arrow (Technique Tuesday).

I used distressed ink with some bleach water to make my watercolor background. I cut the heart swoosh into the background paper and then cut it again out of white cardstock and inlaid it between the cut layers.  The small heart is a different die adhered to the pink heart.  I tried to keep the card clean and a little graphic to showcase the watercolor background.

Go check out my teamies' beautiful beautiful projects at the Hen House and leave them some blog love!  Come join us and share your watercolor cards!

I made my background by cutting out cloud masks then sponging a blue sky.  I used some leftover watercolor paper from my rainbow clouds of yesterday to make the balloons.  I stamped the house in Versamark and used white emboss powder.  I really love how it turned out.

Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series - January 2017!

TGIF!

It's Friday the 13th!

Hope you're not superstitious!  LOL

Well, if you are, distract yourself
with
Paper Sweeties' Plan Your Life Series!

Check out the Design Team's Planners for January 2017!

Nancy Salkeld (You are HERE!)

Here is my planner --

I went a little crazy with the snowflakes and smiley faces. The smiley faces are for my crafting days.  I figured January is usually dreary so I wanted to brighten up things!

Edited: Here are some better, up close photos.  I don't know what happened to the above photo.  It didn't look that dark before.

January is a bit of a lull as far as other activities, or at least they were when I stamped my planner.  Now, several things have come up, as they always do, like car repairs, squirrels in the attic, cooking to stock up my son's freezer, winter de-cluttering.

Come back tomorrow for our Sneak Peeks of the January Release!

4CC #333 - Navy, Gold, Coral

Happy Thursday!

Hope everyone is having a good week and
not too snowed in,
(if you're in the northern hemisphere)!

It's time for another challenge at
4 Crafty Chicks
so come play along with us!

I'm hosting this week and this week is COLOR!

4CC #333 - Navy, Gold, Coral

This is one of my favorite color combos!

Please stick to using just these colors as it is a color challenge week.
You may use neutrals as well.

If you didn't come from the Hen House to my blog,
make sure you stop by there and check out the rest of the team's beautiful projects!

Here is my card ---

STAMPS: Peony Bouquet (Altenew); Sentiment - Fond Expressions 2 (Stamplorations)
PAPER: Navy, gold cardstock; Watercolor paper.
INK: Calypso Coral (Stampin Up), Gold Color Shine spray ink (Heidi Swapp)
EXTRAS: Peony Bouquet Dies (Altenew); Wheat Die (Reverse Confetti); Scallop Tag Layer (Reverse Confetti); stitched scallop border (Avery Elle).

I have been wanting to ink up those new peony stamps from Altenew for a while and with this color combo, I thought it would be perfect to make coral peonies.  I stamped them on watercolor paper with Versamark, embossed them in gold and then used a water brush with Calypso Coral ink to paint them before die cutting them. On the side, you can't see well because it's navy on navy, but there is a scalloped stitched border.  I know those are wheat leaves, but I think they make cool flower leaves too.  ;)

I hope you will ink up some stamps and play along with us this week!

For Following Challenges:

My "New" was new stamps/dies

4CC #332 - Paper Scraps

Happy Thursday!

Happy New Year!

Today is the first challenge of the new year over at
4 Crafty Chicks!

Leanne is our hostess this week and she wants us to use our paper scraps!  We are also having a Guest Designer call!  Woohoo!  You could win a guest design spot with us!

If you're like me, you have a ton of paper scraps in boxes and bins that never get used.  I have way too many paper scraps, it's embarrassing. Every year I say I'm going to use them first but it doesn't happen.

What I decided to do was use a cutting plate from Lil Inkers Designs with some of my paper scraps.  This is a cool plate, because when you turn it horizontally there is a heart.  See for yourself...

I dug out various scraps of pink to use and had to place them various places.  I have to admit it then took me about 90 minutes to arrange them and fit them all in!  LOL  Yet, I love how it turned out with the raspberry heart bursting through.

Now go check out the rest of the Chicks' projects at the Hen House for more inspiration.  Then link up your paper scrap project and play along with us!
